Through my experience it’s helped me further develop my skills and gain new knowledge to allow me implement these attributes when working at Embracia. Overall the training is good and I enjoyed the work placement as it made communicating with residents and staff easier.

What support do you receive?
The printed materials helped me a lot
The one on one sessions with my Trainer help me to understand more and I have the opportunity to ask questions.

How do you find the course?
Mostly it was fine but sometimes the terms can be difficult but my Trainer makes it easy to understand.

Did you gain a better understanding to care for older people?
My knowledge has increased from theory and work placements.

Do you feel that this will help you with your future?
Yes, there is an opportunity for me to be employed as a PCA.

Read below to hear Jofi’s story:

I am lucky to have an opportunity to study and at the same time work through the Embracia Education Program. I started to work in Embracia as a cleaner for 6 months and moved to Laundry. At the moment I am working as a Lifestyle Assistant.

This program gave me a chance to retain all of my working hours while undergoing my education. Ma’am Lilian is a wonderful and helpful assessor as she guides me through the whole program. Undergoing the education through Embracia is greatly helpful in understanding the concept and application because the environment provides the right setting of how the different modules were applied. It is also a big advantage for me studying and had my placement in Embracia because I am familiar with the home and the residents. 💙

A big thanks to everyone who came and spoke with us at the Education Agent Forum yesterday at Sydney's Novotel.
