Every day is a learning experience for a child. Children are naturally curious, full of questions, and eager to understand the world around them. When we lose that natural thirst for knowledge, we lose something incredibly important.

If we want children to continue loving learning, we have to get education right. It needs to be more than textbooks and classrooms. It should be a balance of classroom learning, real-life demonstrations, hands-on experiences, and opportunities to get out into the world and see things for themselves.

We are shaping the future through the way we educate our children today.

Let’s give them an education that inspires curiosity, encourages them to ask questions, and keeps that love of learning alive.

Why is our education system failing . . .

According to NAPLAN (National Assessment Program), 1 in every 3 Australian children is not reading proficiently.

Put that into a classroom of 24 students—the current average class size—and that means 8 children in every class may be struggling to read at the level expected for their age.

Over the years, the way we educate our children has changed. Increasing emphasis has been placed on subjects and priorities that had taken attention away from the essential foundations of reading, writing and arithmetic.

Children are often expected to keep pace with what the teacher is presenting. But what happens to the child who needs a little more time, more individual attention or a different approach?

They fall behind. And once a child falls behind, it can be incredibly difficult to catch up.

We believe education, done the right way and with the right focus, builds the strong foundation a child needs—not just to succeed at school, but to face life with confidence.

During the Market Discovery Tour, students explored Melbourne’s iconic market on a guided tour, discovering the wide variety of fresh produce available while learning about the city’s rich multicultural history. They experienced the lively atmosphere of the market, met passionate traders, and heard their stories. Throughout the tour, students learned about seasonality, where food comes from (provenance), and the importance of choosing fresh, healthy food.

Some might feel that they are better invested in their child’s future if they only choose the best high school for them to go to when they graduate primary school. However without a strong foundation, no matter what high school you send them to it will not be enough.
