“The brain cannot process a negative”

This is a widely misunderstood concept that is not actually true. I mean, you can read and understand the quote itself right? The quote is spoken in the negative.

What it should say is that “The mind cannot internally represent a negative”. Whether it is conscious to you or not (yet), if I ask you not to think of a blue tree, you have to internally represent that blue tree in order to process and understand the communication.

I feel that Applied NLP benefits those most who have the greatest difficulty understanding it in the first place. In this situation, the individual’s Internal Map of Reality corresponds very little to the concepts being learned.

One would think that an individual like that would benefit most from a face-to-face training with a very experienced trainer. Ideally this would be the case however, anyone who has attended any number of live NLP Trainings will tell you that this would unlikely result in a good outcome for that student.

Why? Well, the capacity for the NLP Trainer to answer the number of questions this student is likely to ask just wouldn’t be there. My NLP Training was very good and at the same time if I asked and got answers (over the course of three years) to more than five questions I’d be surprised.

Look, I don’t know if I could live with myself if you went and took the Free Trial only to find that it wasn’t for you. I’d be a wreak and I can’t afford that whilst I complete Manual 3.

How many times have you heard words to the effect of “Let it go dude!”

What does it even mean to ‘let go’ and who or what specifically is being held onto? Have you already let it go and just aren’t conscious of it yet?

I’ll give you the first clue for free. If you go back to the event in question in your mind, and you still feel negative emotion… You haven’t let it go…

And why should you?!

And I’m not even trolling here. ‘Letting go’ is not a conscious process, it’s an unconscious one.

So, how do you make there conscious choice to unconsciously let go of something?..

If this were the case, how would it be possible to understand this statement?

When someone, even famous speakers quote this, understand that they mean, the brain cannot Internally Represent a negative, at least not very well.

How does the Blue Tree thing fit in? I talk about this in Volume 1 Module 2 Affinity & Rapport. This Manual will be released any day now.

What should you do in the meantime? I’d strongly recommend that you complete Volume 1 Module 1 Intro to Applied NLP so that your ready for the Blue Tree! Imagine how embarrassed you’ll feel when the Blue tree rolls around, and you’re not ready for it!

NLP is all about the modelling, breaking down of exemplar behaviours and mindsets. These can, in theory, be codified and implemented by anyone. Story telling is no exception.

Vol 1 Mod 1 has already dropped, Vol 1 Mod 2 is about to drop, and Vol 1 Mod 3 is in development, it focusses on Sensory Based Perception. Good story tellers, consciously or unconsciously use principals of Sensory Based Perception to immerse a listener into their stories.
