Our Patch Karrendi have been experimenting with shapes, colours, textures and the wonderful world of hands-on creation.
Here's what crafting activities they've been up to:
๐ Sticker Scenes โ Using a variety of stickers to make imaginative landscapes, cities, and scenes. This activity encouraged creativity, storytelling, and fine motor skills as students thoughtfully arranged their stickers to bring their unique ideas and visions to life.
๐ Hama Beads โ Designing patterns and shapes through bead placement. This activity supported self-expression and the development of fine motor skills, focus, and patience as students carefully placed each bead to turn their ideas into finished creations.
๐ฆ Box Craft โ Transforming ordinary boxes into armor, which they then used to become robots. This hands-on activity encouraged problem-solving, collaboration, and storytelling as children brought their robotic characters to life and role-played in their own imaginative adventures.

Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds!
Our Patch Gympie West have placing a greater focus on gross motor activities, highlighting the importance of physical play for body and mind health. ๐ง ๐งโโ๏ธ
Children have been actively contributing their own ideas, which has encouraged creativity, ownership and motivation for moment.
Favourites have been yoga, running races, handball, racket and ball games, footy, and โmath-erciseโ โ all of which promote strength ๐ช, coordination ๐๏ธ, endurance ๐, and teamwork ๐ค.

Children at Our Patch Paringa Park have been enthusiastically engaging in the art of origami making, showing creativity, patience and focus as they learn to fold paper into different shapes and designs.

Our Patch Mudgeeraba have been busy building a natural bug house for local insects.
In Term 1, students worked collaboratively to design homes, gather materials and construct habitats that support insects and other small creatures. ๐๐
A valuable opportunity to explore the natural environment while developing creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Our Patch Braeview have been united in colloboration and supporting one another in the program.
Older children have been guiding younger ones through more challenging tasks, offering patience, encouragement, and helpful advice. Meanwhile, younger children have been assisting each other with new activities, learning together and gaining confidence.
It's always a pleasure to see the kids coming together and making the most of their time at OSHC. ๐

The kids at St Kieran's Before School Care have been practicing their zen, with the introduction of weekly yoga. ๐ง๐ฝ
Designed to support physical wellbeing and self-regulation, children confidently revisit familiar poses, practice mindful breathing, and show increasing balance, coordination, and focus.
This routine encourages calm transitions into the school day, promotes independence and peer support, and supports growth in resilience, body awareness, and emotional regulation. ๐ชท How good!
