Voice users! Listen up!
I'm talking to all you teachers, fitness professionals, professional speakers, singers, sales professionals and anyone else that uses their voice for a living!
Up to 60% of you will experience the signs and symptoms of vocal damage at some point during your career.
Vocal damage can be permanent! It doesn't just kill your bank balance - paying for expensive treatment - but also your mental and physical wellbeing! People who experience vocal damage are more likely to have to take days off work, leave their jobs because of it, and are more likely to be financially disadvantaged! Just because you've hurt your voice at work!
Prevention is always better than a cure!
Register for your spot in the Vocal Health for Voice Users online workshop on the 21st of April at 7pm AEST to learn how to PREVENT vocal damage all together!

Speakers and singers listen up!
Are you recording yourself? 🎙️
There is NO greater feedback mechanism than recording yourself and listening back to it.
Your friends and family, clients and work colleagues will never be able to give you feedback as accurate and telling as listening back to a recording you've made.
It doesn't have to be flash or high tech, all smart phones have the ability to record voice memos these days, and this is the BEST way to listen back and critique your own performance to improve upon it next time.
Some examples of what we mean:
- a singer may have no idea that they were going flat at the end of most phrases until listening back to a recording.
- pretty much everyone is unaware of how many filler words (um, ah, like) they use until a recording is played back to them.
- don't like the sound of your own voice? Record yourself while you play around with the tone, pitch and volume of your voice until you hear something you like.

Everyone is different, every message is different.
Never believe anyone that tells you that there's only one correct way to do anything. Humans are amazing creators, constantly innovating and improving upon each and every aspect of our lives.
Thursday tip: try practicing delivering messages a few different ways each day!
- If you're delivering a speech, try mixing up the emphasis, speed, pitch and volume of each sentence. 🗣️
- If you tell your wife you love her before you leave for work each morning, try leaving her a note or cooking her breakfast. 🥓 🥚 🥘
- If you read to your children before bed, try acting out the characters in the book with different voices, you could even get them to join in!
Human interest thrives on variation. Keep your listeners engaged, your conversation partners interested and your loved ones constantly surprised by your ability to keep them on their toes 😁

Communication is the glue that makes the world go 'round! As we all know, things go wrong when people are bad at communicating.
No one is just 'born' with the skills to be a great communicator, these are things that are learned over time with the help of environmental influences, imitation and direct practice.
If you want to be a great communicator, you have to practice communicating!
They say for every minute of a speech you're presenting, you should practice for at least ten minutes.
10 minute speech = 10x10=100 minutes!
Not only that, but practicing under different conditions and varying the delivery every time will also put you on the path to presentation success!
You’ve probably heard that men lower their voices when they’re flirting with a woman, but did you know that women instinctively do the same?
A study found that “both sexes used a lower-pitched voice and showed a higher level of physiological arousal when speaking to the more attractive, opposite-sex target.”
The next time you’re talking to someone you find good-looking, listen carefully to see if their pitch lowers, even slightly—it might signal that they’re into you!
