You know school holidays are over when the meal prep starts back up again. 👨🍳
Question is how long will this last?
Good luck to everyone heading back tomorrow for Term 2!

I’ve been a bit quiet on here lately.
I’m not on a digital detox nor have I gone full “monk mode” but because I’ve been recovering since my unexpected surgery and a long stint in hospital over December and January.
Over the last few weeks, I have started to feel more like “me” again and had moments where I can do normal, gentle, almost-summer like things. A coffee in the sun. A slow walk. A visit to the pool in the middle of the day. An afternoon nap. A drive with no agenda.
And whilst it’s been lovely it also feels very strange.
Because I’ve been recovering, and been off work, but I’m also not confined to the version of “sick” that makes sense in most people’s heads. I’ve been well enough to be out in the world, but not well enough to be back in my usual rhythm.
It’s been this weird in-between space and I don’t quite know how to hold it… or how others will perceive it.
I’ve also noticed this low-level guilt sitting underneath it all. It feels weird to be out and about (and even weirder to be posting about it… hence the online silence) when everyone else’s school life is in full swing.
I start back at school tomorrow.
I’m super excited to being back with my people, but I’m also going in a little bit nervous. I’m trying to remember that going “back” does not have to mean “back at full pace”.
And now that I’m back, I’m looking forward to getting back to sharing that journey with you all.
Lets do this. 💪

Jumping on the bandwagon… Think it sums me up about right!

Welcome to 2026! 🎉
Umm… what?!?
Yeah, I know we are well and truly into February, but January basically didn't exist for me this year as I spent three weeks in hospital; not exactly how I planned to start 2026!
I'm still off work, can't drive, and haven't been able to hit the gym but I'm on the mend and hope to be back at it all in the next few weeks.
So here's to a fresh start, even if it's a little delayed.
Better late than never, right?
How’s your year started?

Hey Team - Happy 2026! 👋
Not quite the start to the year I was hoping for having spent the end/start of the year in hospital 🏥
Slowly on the mend and focusing on recovery ❤️🩹
Be back soon! 😉

🚗 We’re Back! Term 4 kicked off today in Victoria and I’m feeling rested and rejuvenated; balancing excitement for the term ahead with that feeling of “how did holidays fly by so quickly?!”
Looking forward to seeing the smiling faces of our students and staff and hearing all about their holiday adventures!

As school leaders and teachers, our role isn’t to provide all the answers. Instead, we create environments where students (and staff) feel confident to explore, question, and draw their own meaningful conclusions.

I had the amazing opportunity last week to present our school's School-Wide Positive Behavior Support journey at a neighboring school's curriculum day!
It was lovely to share and reflect not only on our own SWPBS journey and implementation to date, but also the next steps for us in terms of school improvement.
A huge thanks to the wonderful staff who welcomed me - your enthusiasm for the work that lies ahead is incredible!

Hi team! 👋 Just dropping back in after a bit of a social media break. Life’s been a bit of a whirlwind lately as I’ve been deep in moving boxes and settling into a new place. 🏡
Between coordinating removalists, trying to remember which box has what in it and finding new places to store everything, it’s been the adventure. But I’m slowly getting there and am finding my way around my new hood and getting back to my usual routines.
In the meantime it’s back to the boxes! 📦📦📦
