"We know that behind every image revealed there is another image more faithful to reality, and in the back of that image there is another, and yet another behind the last one, and so on, up to the true image of that absolute, mysterious reality that no one will ever see" - Antonioni

"With contemporary, retrospective, industry, and activist agendas, FIFF encompasses what women’s film festivals are all about. They celebrate and generate visibility for women’s stories and perspectives on the world, old and new. While feminism has changed, evolved, multiplied, been rejected and embraced, women’s film festivals continue to be spaces for feminist intervention in national and global screen industries, society and culture." - Sian Mitchell (Festival Report in Issue 105 of Senses of Cinema)
