On Friday Goodstart Early Learning Lower Plenty, Goodstart Early Learning Bundoora Plenty Rd Goodstart Early Learning Heidelberg Goodstart Early Learning Bundoora - Karl Court and Goodstart Watsonia were all involved in Diamond Creek Junior Football Club The Northern Footy Show Fight MND charity event. What a night raising money for an incredible cause. Goodstart were a proud sponsor of the event. We thank Vicki Ward MP for Eltham for coming to the service for our ice bucket challenge.
The night raised over $90k and was featured on 7 news and also the Herald Sun. We are so proud of our local services for making a meaningful contribution to local community events.

Some pictures from our Fight MND event on Wednesday. We are so proud to have such a fantastic family community who jump onboard to support every time we hold an event!
Goodstart Lower Plenty is part of a larger community event taking place Diamond Creek Junior Football Club on 29th May. The Diamond Creek Legends will take on The Northern Footy Show legends to raise money for Fight MND. We wanted to join in too, so on Wednesday we along with 4 of our neighbouring services took part in a "Go Blue for MND" event. Children and educators dressed in blue and donated gold coins and our Director Kaz took part in the ice bucket challenge!!! A big thanks to MP Vicki Ward MP for Eltham for coming down and taking part in our event and thankyou to all of the families that donated. All funds will go towards Diamond Creeks total to fight the beast that is MND.

Last night we held our Emotional Regulation workshop which was facilitated by Building Blocks Therapy. We had a fantastic attendance at the workshop with great feedback from all. If any family would like to receive the notes from the workshop please contact us and we will pass them on.

Goodstart Early Learning Lower Plenty are happy to present a Emotional Regulation Presentation (presented by building blocks therapy). We invite our families in our kinder aged room to join in on the online session on Tuesday 19th May. For further information please see a friendly staff member.
In our Kindergarten the children have been very busy planting a kitchen garden. Along with our Educator Youfei ( who is also an avid gardener) the children planted Chinese cabbage, radish, red and white spring onion, coriander and mint and also some spinach! The children are learning about the lifecycle of plants and also sustainable practices. We will update with the progress of how the garden is growing!

Today we celebrate the birthday of one of our longest staff members May (known as May May) around these parts. May is our longest serving team member working at Lower Plenty for over 16 years. Each day May strives to provide incredible care and education to the youngest members of our community. Some of our lovely families wrote wonderful messages to May to help her celebrate and we celebrated with a yummy cake.
We are all very grateful to May May and wish her a very happy birthday.

Exciting news. Goodstart Early Learning Lower Plenty is teaming up with several other local Goodstart services and the Diamond Creek Junior Football Club and The Northern Footy Show to raisefunds for Fight MND . On Wednesday 20th May we are wearing blue in honour of those effected by motor neurone disease.
We are so excited to be part of this local community event.
We ask that families give a small donation which will all be donated to fight the beast that is MND.
