African Drumming Incursion at Funtastic Kidz! 🥁

What an incredible day of music, culture, and joy at Funtastic Kidz Early Learning Centre!

Our children had an amazing time participating in a vibrant African Drumming Incursion presented by Asanti Dance Theatre . The children explored different rhythms, learned how to play traditional African drums, and experienced the power of music through hands-on participation.

The beautiful sounds of the drums and traditional instruments created a peaceful and engaging atmosphere, capturing the children’s curiosity and imagination. Through music, movement, and storytelling, the children were introduced to African culture in a fun and meaningful way.

It was wonderful to see so many smiles, enthusiastic participation, and joyful dancing throughout the session. Experiences like these help children develop an appreciation for cultural diversity, build confidence, encourage self-expression, and foster a sense of belonging within our community.

Reconciliation Week at Funtastic Kidz ELC ❤️💛🖤

As we continue to celebrate Reconciliation Week, our children have been engaging in a variety of meaningful experiences that help them learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and connections to Country.

Throughout the week, children explored creative art and craft experiences using natural materials, collaborated on beautiful Aboriginal-inspired artworks, created turtles, handprints, and nature collages, and participated in sensory and fine motor activities inspired by Indigenous symbols and stories.

These experiences encouraged children to develop respect for diversity, a sense of belonging, appreciation for culture, creativity, collaboration, and an understanding of the importance of caring for people, community, and Country.

At Funtastic Kidz, we believe that learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures from an early age helps children build empathy, respect, and meaningful connections with the world around them. Through play, exploration, and creativity, our children are learning what it means to walk together towards a more inclusive future.

💜 National Sorry Day at Funtastic Kidz ELC 💜

Today at Funtastic Kidz Early Learning Centre, our children participated in meaningful Sorry Day experiences as they explored the importance of kindness, respect, empathy, and caring for one another.

The children created beautiful purple flowers together to represent healing, reflection, and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Through hands-on creative experiences, children were encouraged to talk about feelings, friendship, caring for others, and the importance of saying “sorry” with kindness and understanding. 🌸

These meaningful activities helped children develop:

Learning the Days of the Week Through activity! 🐛

Our little learners at Funtastic Kidz Early Learning Centre had so much fun exploring the days of the week through a creative hands-on caterpillar activity! ✂️

The children carefully practised their cutting skills and matched each day in the correct order to create their very own caterpillars. Through this engaging experience, children were encouraged to think, problem-solve, and learn while having fun with their friends. 💚

This activity helped support the development of:
✨ Fine motor skills through cutting and pasting
✨ Hand-eye coordination and concentration
✨ Early literacy and sequencing skills
✨ Cognitive development and memory

🚦 Road Safety Week at Funtastic Kidz ELC 🚦

What a wonderful and exciting week we had learning all about road safety! Our children from Nursery through to Kindergarten participated in a variety of fun and meaningful experiences designed to help them understand how to stay safe on and around the road. 🛑🚗🚦

Throughout the week, the children explored traffic light activities, road sensory play, car and road pretend play, painting experiences, matching games, and interactive discussions about road signs and safety rules.

Our Kindergarten children especially loved taking part in a pretend driving test where they practiced following road signs and safely navigating the bike track. Children who successfully completed the challenge proudly received their very own “Driving Licence” certificate! 🚘👏

These experiences supported children to develop:
✨ Awareness of road safety rules
✨ Listening and following instructions
✨ Decision-making and problem-solving skills
✨ Fine motor and hand-eye coordination
✨ Imaginative and cooperative play
✨ Confidence and independence

🐝🌼 Happy World Bee Day! 🌼🐝

Today at Funtastic Kidz ELC, our children enjoyed exploring and learning all about bees through a variety of fun and hands-on activities! The children had the wonderful opportunity to observe a honeycomb, smell the sweet honey, and learn about the important role bees play in our environment. 🍯🐝

Through sensory play, creative experiences, and group discussions, the children explored how bees make honey, where they live, and why we should protect them. These meaningful experiences helped spark curiosity, support sensory development, and encourage respect for nature and living things. 🌿💛

It was beautiful to see the children so engaged, excited, and eager to learn throughout the day!

🦋Butterfly Magic at Funtastic Kidz ✨

Our Kinder children have been on an exciting butterfly journey over the past two weeks! 🐛

We introduced two special cocoons to the children so they could observe and learn about the amazing life cycle of a butterfly. Every day, the children watched closely with curiosity and excitement, patiently waiting for the big moment. 🥰

When the butterflies finally emerged from their cocoons, the children were absolutely amazed and full of joy! Their faces lit up with excitement as they witnessed this beautiful transformation firsthand. 🦋

To complete this wonderful experience, all the children gathered together to gently release the butterflies into nature. It was such a magical and meaningful moment for everyone. 🌿

Through this hands-on experience, children developed:

🌟 Special Visit at Funtastic Kidz Early Learning Centre 🌟

Today we had the wonderful opportunity to welcome Councillor Peter Maynard to Funtastic Kidz Early Learning Centre!

The children were very excited to spend time with him during group time, where they enjoyed meaningful conversations, asked questions, and shared their ideas and learning. 📚

One of the highlights of the visit was our colourful hand print activity, where the children, educators, and Councillor Peter Maynard all participated together. The children absolutely loved creating hand prints alongside him and were so proud to share this special experience. 💕

We are truly grateful for the time Councillor Peter Maynard spent with our children and team today. Building strong connections with our community helps children develop a sense of belonging, confidence, and understanding of the world around them.
