As part of our Japanese cultural learning, our Kinder children explored the art of pottery! Inspired by beautiful Japanese ceramics, they carefully shaped their own clay pots and added decorative patterns using fine brushes. We were amazed by their creativity, focus, and attention to detail during the process. We can’t wait to paint and decorate their masterpieces once they’re dry! 🏺✨

🎨 Painting in new ways to explore different patterns and textures.
Our little ones experimented with rolling cars and trucks down a paper ramp, observing the different patterns and textures the paint left on the paper.
Our Lilly Pilly class also used cardboard rolls to create a variety of unique paint patterns and designs 🖌️

All smiles & lots of movement ☀️🍎
Here are some snaps of our Kinder friends enjoying gross motor fun outside! We played a game of Fruit Salad, listening carefully, running fast and cheering each other on before practising our big and small jumps with the floor ladder. 💛🏃♀️🍌🍓

A huge shout out to all the Mums and special people in our little humans’ lives 💐
Yesterday, we celebrated with a lovely afternoon tea filled with smiles, crafts, gifts, and lots of love. The children were so excited to share the special creations they’ve been working on with our educators over the past few weeks.
We hope you all feel extra loved and spoilt this Mother’s Day ☕️🍰💝

One of the many things we’re proud of is the variety of sensory experiences our little learners enjoy throughout the day. Whether it’s exploring our gardens with Sherry, visiting our worm farm (a big favourite with the kids), engaging in water or messy play, or getting creative with different textures, there’s always something new to discover.
Our educators put so much thought and care into creating fun, engaging, and educational experiences for your little ones 💛

🐝 Term 2 Kinder Incursion
🍯 We were so lucky to have Mary from return this year to teach our Golden Wattle kinder class just how amazing bees are and why they’re so important in our lives.
The children learnt all about caring for bees, the needs of a hive, and the different roles each bee has. They also discovered how honey is made and even got to taste some, as well as touch and smell real honeycomb!
The highlight of the day was watching a real hive in action.
The children were set the challenge of finding the queen bee 👑… but she was very tricky to spot!

Autumn has arrived! 🍂
The children explored the changing season by collecting fallen leaves from our oak tree, excitedly calling out “I found one!” as they filled their baskets. We then used the beautiful mix of colours. With greens, browns and greys to create our own nature-inspired art.

🧪🧫 Milk & Oil 🥛
The oil and milk activity is a sensory, science experiment demonstrating density and immiscibility. By dropping colored milk into a tray of oil, the children created floating, swirling colours, perfect for exploring, fine-motor skill and development.
Our Eucalyptus class had a great time✨

🐇 Little Oak ELC would love to wish all our families and team members a happy and wonderful Easter. We’ve had a really fun week enjoying all kinds of Easter crafts, cooking, and celebrations.
A little reminder that we are closed for the Easter break and will reopen on Tuesday, 7th April. We can’t wait to hear about the special family time our children may have enjoyed, and whether the Easter Bunny made an appearance for our little ones 👀🥕🍫
