✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️ I AM BACK ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

The guardian of dreams is back on business!!

I have been on my well deserved maternity leave, but now I'm ready to take on new parents in need of help!

I've made some changes:

There won't be any more a website, If you need some info or simply want to chat, just message me on messenger and I'll reply at my quickest convenience (bare with me I'm a working mom with 2 little ones)

Why should you choose me rather than others?

I work one on one with families to write individual sleep plan based on your needs, I don't work by the book but I make sure together we find a routine that best suits you and your little one.

I make sure my packages aren't too pricey as I know how life is already expensive.
Alongside sleep packages I send the sleep guide so that you have the right knowledge even when we finish working together.

I've been there and I know what sleep deprivation feels like, so I do what I do purely to help families

If you have any questions just message me!!!

It took me so long to finish writing this guide, with the challenging of being a mother myself, with my second hard and sick pregnancy, now the newborn phase with the toddler running around, but finally it is ready!

I wanted to make sure that this sleep guide had enough information to support families to learn healthy sleep habits from the very beginning.

With this guide you’ll learn healthy sleep habits, the perfect sleep environment to promote sleep, age appropriate routines from newborn to 2 years old, safe sleep for your newborn and more!

What are you waiting for?? Check this out

πŸŒ™πŸŒ™NIGHT FEEDINGSπŸŒ™πŸŒ™

I know mama, you feel exhausted and you feel like you are alone at night while you are feeding your baby, thinking that the rest of the world is sleeping!

I feel you and you are not alone and most of these night feedings are age appropriate and there is nothing wrong with you or your baby!

πŸ‘‰Excessive night feeding will encourage further night time waking from 12 weeks onward, this happens because babies' body produce insulin as a response when feeding.

πŸ‘‰Insulin secretion has actually been shown to block the production of melatonin, the sleepy hormone.

πŸ‘‰As a result of frequent night feedings, the circadian rhythm will also be disrupted causing habitual waking to feed.

πŸ‘‰If your baby is gaining good weight and if not specifically recommended for any growth or medical reason by your pediatrician, gp or maternal nurse, the following are the age appropriate night feedings:

🧸0-12 weeks πŸ‘‰ 2-4 feeds

🧸 3-6 months πŸ‘‰ 1-2 feeds

🧸 7-12 months πŸ‘‰ 0-1 feeds

🧸 12+ months πŸ‘‰ 0 feeds

Remember that every child is different and if you have any medical or growth concern you should see your doctor or maternal nurse and follow their suggestions.

Have you been wondering why I haven’t been on social media at all lately ??? Here there is why::

We welcomed our baby boy number 2 on Wednesday the 23rd of February after a loooong 3 days of labour!!

His big brother is a very proud and happy big brother and we are still adjusting to our new life and routine!!

The transition from 1 child to 2 is not easy … starting again with the sleepless nights and feedings and all the worries of a newborn!! Plus the toddler adjusting to the baby and having to share mommy’s time, which I find the hardest part!!

But motherhood is such a blessing and we’ve got this!!!

If you are feeling down today because you could not sleep well last night, and you feel exhausted, remember that you are strong and doing an amazing job!! It is normal for newborns to just need mom’s cuddles and feeds on demand πŸ₯°

β„οΈβ˜€οΈ TOG AND ROOM TEMPERATURE GUIDE β˜€οΈβ„οΈ

Let's talk about how frustrating can be dressing your little one at night, especially in Melbourne!! I am honest I get frustrated every night!!

If your little one is too cold or too warm, it can disrupt their ability to fall asleep and stay asleep. πŸ₯ΆπŸ₯΅

🌟The ideal temperature for your baby’s bedroom is 18-20Β°c (about 65 - 68Β°F). It is important to layer them appropriately for the temperature of the room.

πŸ‘‰Most sleeping bags come with a layering guide based on their weight. It is important to follow these guides correctly to ensure your baby isn’t too hot or cold.

Check this guide to help you πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

***NOTE*** This is a guide only, always check on your little one by feeling/touching their neck to see if it is sweaty or cold to the touch

⭐⭐⭐BREASTFEEDING⭐⭐⭐

I've been there, and yes breastfeeding can often be stressful especially for first time mothers.

It is very common to wonder "am I making enough milk? is baby eating enough? is he/she latching well?"

That's why today I want to talk about poor and good signs of attachment and what to look for.

The four signs of good attachment are:
πŸ‘‰more of the ar**la is visible above the baby's top lip than below the lower lip;
πŸ‘‰the baby's mouth is wide open;
πŸ‘‰the baby's lower lip is curled outwards;
πŸ‘‰the baby's chin is touching or almost touching the breast.

The signs of poor attachment are:
πŸ‘‰more of the ar**la is visible below the baby's bottom lip than above the top lip – or the amounts above and below are equal;
πŸ‘‰the baby's mouth is not wide open;
πŸ‘‰the baby's lower lip points forward or is turned inwards;
πŸ‘‰the baby's chin is away from the breast.
If any one of these signs is present, or if suckling is painful or uncomfortable, attachment needs to be improved. However, when a baby is very close to the breast, it can be difficult to see what is happening to the lower lip.

If you are concerned that your baby is not getting enough and/or has poor attachment make sure you seek professional advice from your lactation consultant or maternal nurse.
