Whether your child is already attending early learning, getting ready to start, or you're still exploring your options, it's natural to have questions.

💭 Will my child feel safe and supported? 💭 How will they cope with new experiences and changes? 💭 What can I do to help them feel confident and settled?

Listen to Episode 1 of What I Wish I Knew... The Early Learning Guide podcast, with child development expert Dr Billy Garvey as he explains why transitions are such an important part of childhood and how strong, supportive relationships help children navigate change with confidence.

From starting early learning to moving rooms, making new friends or tackling other big milestones, transitions are a normal part of growing up. When children feel safe, supported and connected, they're more likely to embrace new experiences, build confidence and develop the resilience they need to thrive.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG 🌸

We’re welcoming the new season with sunshine, fresh blooms, curious little minds and lots of opportunities for learning through play! 🌱🐝

Our children have been busy exploring the changes that spring brings — noticing flowers blooming, listening for buzzing bees, feeling the warmth of the sunshine and discovering all the wonderful things growing around us. 🌻🌿

Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

Take another look through your What & When for Families guide to explore age-appropriate activities and learning ideas you can try together.

💛 Sometimes the best learning resource is the one you already have at home.

Our worm farm exploration 🪱 in the kindergarten room took an exciting turn today when one of our curious learners asked, “What do baby worms look like and how do they get made?” 🌱

This sparked a wonderful discussion about the worm life cycle! The children discovered that worms are both male and female, laying tiny, lemon-shaped cocoons hidden beneath the soil. We also learned that worms have a the sweet tooth for fruit 🍎🍌 but do not like citrus 🍊and, because they don’t have teeth, they rely on tiny microbes to soften their food before they can eat it.

Moments like these remind us that the best learning begins with children’s questions. Through hands on exploration, our kindergarten scientists are developing curiosity, caring for living creatures, and building an understanding of sustainability. 🌱🌏

🐮🐑🐴 This week in the Nursery!

Our little learners have been busy exploring life on the farm! Through stories, songs, and hands-on play, the children have been discovering different farm animals, the sounds they make, and building connections between the animals they see in books and the world around them.

Learning through play is helping to spark curiosity, language development, and a love of reading. 📚💚
