I waited.
And I waited.
And I waited more
And by the time I was 46 I was still waiting.
What was I waiting for ?
I was waiting for my life to change.
I was waiting for someone to come and change it for me.
I was waiting for my life to get easier.
I was waiting for the fear of failure to go away.
I was waiting to feel ready for the change
I was waiting to feel more confident
The list is endless, all this waiting was me procrastinating, was me denying myself what I wanted and deserved.
Me waiting was my fear - fear of trying and nothing being different, of failing, of not being clever enough, of not knowing how.
In reply to the question in my post, nearly ten years on is this.
Stop waiting.
Nothing will change unless you make the first move towards making changes.
Change can be scary, but with every step forward into making changes, into learning what you need to do and how you will do it, comes a huge sense of achievement, comes joy as you feel a shift in your mind, comes confidence and self belief the more steps forward you take towards your goal.
So ask yourself this - what is one thing I can do today that will move me one step closer to my goal/desire?

There should be no guilt or shame in wanting balance and peace/calm in our lives. In fact this how we are meant to be.
Unfortunately as we grow up we create different states of being which can have huge detrimental effects on our mental health and physical heath.
The common blocks keep us in a heightened state of negative emotions, which continues in a cycle and increasing the discomfort felt.
We need to break this cycle and find a way to return to peace allowing us to have a more enjoyable day and of course life experience generally.
An excellent way to do this is through tapping. Tapping allows you to take power into your own hands to resolve your own experiences.

Fear does not want to be a bully
Fear means well
Our environment whilst growing up, has promoted fear to play such a huge part of our lives.
So how can you bring fear back to being your friend more than your bully?
We need to get fear into perspective
We need to realise it is controlled by our own beliefs, and we can take back that control to minimise our discomfort.
Practices to ease the fear in our mind and body include
Speaking about it - talk to someone about it, getting it out is better than it going round in your head.
Thought vs Fact - where is the evidence to back up your fear
Journal - write about your fear and everything that may come up about the fear
EFT/tapping - get the energy moving in your body again releasing the fear and acknowledging it for what it is
Breathe through it - conscious breathing is amazing, bringing your body and mind back to calm
Visualise a happy place for you - visualisation is a really enjoyable excercise and powerful - remember your fave holiday or social event and relive that moment - smile and feel those good vibes flow through your body.
You do not need to fear the fear for the rest of your life - you can choose to work with it, let it work when you need it and in your best interest, not against you as the big bully.

Who do I think I am?
What was I thinking, I can't do this?
I am meant to fail
I am a fraud
I don't belong
Imposter Syndrome is an internal experience when you believe you are not as competent as others, put simply you feel like a fraud.
The inner "imposter" in you means well, she has your fears and limiting beliefs from your past experiences saved internally and uses them to try and keep you safe, ironically.
This is not the real you, please remember this
You can learn to quieten this internal imposter and also control it with routines and practices, including tapping/eft.

I never used to give much thought to the word effort.
Got used to hearing “could do better, with more effort “ at school, but never really thought more about it what this actually meant, taking it as criticism.
Fast forward to my adult years and I realised that it is more than just teachers criticism,
I saw the comment from a different perspective - and realised that through applying effort in any aspect of life, I gained more knowledge, skill and confidence in that area.
This also gave me more passion and motivation when setting my goals and keeping on track - my goals then became more exciting and enjoyable, where I was keen to see my results.
After starting my personal development journey with the understanding I had of effort, allowed me to fully commit to my journey knowing that It was a win win situation for me - where I will learn more, gain even more confidence and grow more.
