Our Koala room babies explored the garden using fresh, home grown herbs. They squashed, smelled, and felt different textures as they engaged their senses through hands on discovery. Home grown and hands on is always better!

Nature provides endless opportunities for children to explore, discover, and learn. Whether they're digging in the soil, observing insects, collecting leaves, or simply enjoying the fresh air, outdoor experiences help foster curiosity, creativity, problem-solving skills, and a deeper connection to the world around them.

Learning in nature also supports children's physical wellbeing, resilience, confidence, and sense of wonder. Every outdoor adventure becomes an opportunity to ask questions, make discoveries, and develop a lifelong appreciation for the environment.

Derrimut Weelam Gathering Place - Reconciliation Week Flag Raising 💛

25/05/2026

Today is National Sorry Day.

A day to acknowledge the strength and resilience of the Stolen Generations, and to reflect on the lasting impact of past government policies that caused profound grief, loss and trauma for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.

National Sorry Day is an important opportunity for all Australians to listen, learn and continue the journey of truth-telling, healing and reconciliation.

The Kimberley Native Violet, the official symbol of National Sorry Day, represents the resilience and survival of the Stolen Generations.

As we approach National Reconciliation Week, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect, acknowledge the past and commit to building a stronger future together.
