With a heavy heart, I want to report an incident which took place in Mount Ridley College Grade 11, Melbourne, Australia.

My daughter studies in the above mentioned school and as per her normal routine, she was taking her usual class of media on Friday, 14th of October 2022.

She was forced to watch a banned, explicit and blasphemous cartoon material developed somewhere in Europe against our Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by the teacher named, Simon Kowalyk. The material showed two men acting out doing “things” to each other and one of them was shown to be the Holy Prophet Muhammad PBUH.

As per the Religious Discrimination Bill 2021, it is clearly an act of religious discrimination.

My daughter also tried to express her discomfort at the video but unfortunately the teacher didn't care and continued to play the video, forcing my child to view that content.

Forcing a child to view content is illegal and against the Law.

This has aggravated my child and my family’s sentiments in a painful manner and has put us in a painful psychological and mental trauma.

We as Muslims cannot tolerate anything against our holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

I would like to ask the following questions to ………the school,education Dept and the relevant authorities………that:

1. Why has the teacher shown such blasphemous material to students knowing that Muslims students are also present in the class?

2. Is that content part of the curriculum?

3. Why such kind of material is ever allowed in any school?

We want a formal apology and we demand explanation that why this kind of event even happed.

We also want confirmation that such kind of events should not take place in any institutions which hurts our sentiments.

We also demand that the teacher should be *suspended* from the school and an enquiry should be conducted against him.

Finally, we demand equal time. To cover the damage done by Mr. Kowalyk, we demand that the School invites a Muslim Scholar who will explain the personality and status of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH to the School and especially the class of Year 11, where this totally unacceptable content was displayed.

We will take this further if our concerns are not met.
