Classroom on-Country - Edney's Trail, Ooramboo Friday 07/08/2026
Pop Donald and our emerging Student on-Country Leaders guided the whole school through the history and legend of Edney's Trail, Ooramboo. The on-Country classroom allowed all to explore the Wajarri people;s creation story of Burringurrah guided by rock engravings, the spearing place of Burringurrah, identify bush foods and medicine, that have emerged because of the recent rains. A dingo and a python also made their presence known. A fantastic learning experience, for all, was had and student behaviour met the high on-Country behaviour expectations of traditional owners. Our next adventure will be to Thomas's waterhole.

Celebrating Positive Behaviour
Congratulations to Tra'yden, Lilly and Zendaya for getting caught being respectful, kind and putting in huge efforts in learning. So many other positives were caught in the Ted Talks jar by student behaving to the school's Code of Conduct. What a wonderful way to end another brilliant week at Burringurrah RCS.

On-Country - Gnamma Holes
Our regular weekly on-Country was led this week by an outstanding future leader, Monty. Monty led us through the Gnamma Holes, the rock maps, exploring uses of trees, plants and animal's tracks of cultural significance. The knowledge share by all was amazing and the teachers, as students, learnt a huge amount of Wajarri Yamtatji cultural knowledge. A huge thanks to Pop Donald for setting clear cultural intentions for our on-Country experience and Monty for his professional teaching. Can't wait for Thomas waterhole next week.

Welcome back to school - Term 3
How wonderful it was to see everyone safely and happily return to school for Week 1. We welcomed Miss Vivienne and Miss Lulu to the Burringurrah School and Community. It was lovely to have so many familiar faces back at school and it is also wonderful to welcome our returning visitors on S24. The week culminated with time on-Country, Bombie Knocker playoff and Ted Talks. Congratulations to Natasha and Hayley for getting caught writing wonderful sentences in your special writing book.
