📍 London 2010 in suitcases...I left a full-time permanent teaching job in Sydney to move to London & travel the world. London-California-Austin-Singapore. We left in our 20s and moved back to Australia in our late 30s after more than a decade of traveling - and now with two sweet kiddo's as sidekicks! We had the experience of a lifetime navigating expat life & I leveled up my bravery and grew wings. It's why building a small business now maybe feels a little less scary. Creativity takes courage. We are always energized by those who are brave enough to show up at our studio table for the first time, surrounded by new faces in an unfamiliar place. Once the paintbrushes have been dipped in colour and the tea is gently steaming from teacups, the conversations flow and there is laughter and light filling the studio. We are passionate about sharing our time and creativity with you, and you're each our 'why' for running creative workshops. I recently read this quote, "Imagine being a child filled with wonder, surrounded by overwhelmed & impatient adults. Maybe the kids aren't the difficult ones." Some gentle food for thought, and it got me thinking about our why for each of our workshops. Our Sewing + Art Mini Sessions to help adults reset with connection and creativity on a weeknight. Our Mother-Daughter and Parent-Child workshops where you learn alongside each other, championing being present and brave to try something new. Our Embroidery & Art classes, to encourage taking a breath and a step back from the daily grind to slow stitch something beautiful.
What if we could just slow down, pause, reset and fully arrive in the present moment without notifications or expectations, but rather just with time to create, grow & learn. See you in the studio & by the sea this season ❤️ JB xo

A Wednesday morning slowing down in the studio ❤️ the sun was streaming in, the tea was hot, the heat pillows were ready to sew 🪻thank you for sharing your morning with us McCann McCann we had a beautiful time sewing together! Our heat pillows are filled with pearl barley & lavender and are a gentle reminder to pause, rest and reset 🫶🏼 sewing is self care xo
