August has been and gone and with it one of the most emotional and difficult decisions that I have had to make. At the start of August I closed our beautiful school not because I wanted to but because I need to. Due to health reasons I am too unwell to continue at the moment and in the near future. This is not a goodbye but a pause, this is not how I imagined this year would go, forever pushing forward I was imagining the graduation of the little babies I welcomed 5 years ago and welcoming new families for next year but instead I'm grieving the healthy version of me and what I was able to build here. Not just a beautiful daycare environment but a community, friendships and having the privilege of loving and caring for every child that came through the door. Thank you to all my beautiful Wild families it has been an amazing adventure and privilege to care for your children. They are the most amazing, caring, capable and tenacious little people who protect every creature great and small I am so proud to be a part of their lives. I hope one day soon I can reopen the doors and welcome children and their families to our beautiful school once again.

I love making little videos of the beautiful things we do and places we visit but something has been bothering me and that is the large amount of negativity across social media in general but especially surrounding people's choices around childcare. Now I am not going to talk about my personal opinion regarding long daycare and the disgusting things that have happened because this post would be banned but amongst all this I want you to see there are passionate and dedicated educators still here protecting, caring and loving your children.

I wanted to share this from a mother and educator perspective. If you are a new parent needing to think about childcare it would absolutely terrifying to think about putting your precious baby in care. But what suits one family and their child won't suit someone else. Whether you stay at home full time, work full time, part time whatever your family's choice is then it is right for your family. As women and mothers there is enough guilt suffocating us we don't need to add more to our plates.

I wanted to share this because over the last few months it has been devastatingly hard to find reasons not to close my doors and to give up.

I want parents to know there are amazing educators that absolutely love what they do and for me I have built a business that I love, to be home for my own children, to give the best quality care, love and safety to every child that walks through our doors. As my beautiful families often comment ' they are living their best lives'. I'm putting this here as a reminder to myself, my why... To be here and present for my own children and for all the children that are and will forever be wild ones, not to learn through play but playing is learning, to give every child the opportunity to be in a caring , loving and nurturing environment so they can be their authentic selves.
