Happy Science Week! 🔬✨

We celebrated by making a huge mess - in the name of science, of course! Our students tackled the famous Elephant's Toothpaste experiment to explore chemical reactions. 💥

🍎 Eat Well, Move Well Week! 🏃‍♀️

Our children enjoyed a fun-filled week learning about healthy choices! They created collages of nutritious lunchboxes, participated in lots of exciting fitness challenges, and made fresh-squeezed orange juice. It was a wonderful way to encourage healthy eating, active bodies and teamwork! 🍊💪🥗✨

Dental Health Week 🦷🪥✨️
This week the children learned about the importance of good oral hygiene. They explored how to brush their teeth correctly, why flossing is important, and how healthy food and drink choices help keep their teeth strong. The children also discussed the importance of regular dental check-ups and caring for their teeth every day.

🥳🥰 Happy OSHC Educators’ Day! 🥰🥳

The SmartPlay Medowie OSHC educators had a wonderful time celebrating together last Saturday! We enjoyed a fun pizza night 🍕, games, relaxing around the fire pit 🔥, plenty of sweet treats 🍫🍦, and lots of laughter!

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing educators for everything you do each day. Your dedication, care and hard work are truly appreciated! 🙏🥰

🌿 Vacation Care Wrap-Up – NAIDOC Week 🌿

What a wonderful final week of Vacation Care! This week, we celebrated NAIDOC Week and explored the rich culture, history and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We were excited to welcome Winanga-y Dreaming, who shared Indigenous artefacts, traditional tools and musical instruments from Awabakal Country. The children loved watching Roo and the team perform traditional dances, and they even had the opportunity to learn and perform a dance themselves!

🎨 The children also enjoyed decorating their own tote bags with beautiful dot-painting-inspired designs, which they were excited to take home.

We hope everyone had a fantastic Vacation Care and look forward to welcoming you back for Term 3!

We had an outstanding second week of Vacation Care, highlighted by interactive sessions with Brick4kids, hands-on sewing experiences crafting stuffed dolls, and an educational visit to Hunter wetland focusing on reptile and bird habitats. We are enthusiastic about our upcoming vacation care week.

What an action-packed first week of Vacation Care! SmartPlay Medowie children visited Scotty's Cinema Raymond Terrace to watch Minions & Monsters; participated in a STEM workshop with JC Ingenium; created a monster cupcake in our cooking class; embarked on a bush walk, and engaged in numerous other learning experiences! We look forward to sharing more exciting activities planned for the next two weeks.

This ANZAC Day, we reflect on the courage and selflessness of those who served and sacrificed for our freedom. We give thanks to God for their service and the peace we enjoy today.
