🎢🎢 Today our Year 3 - 6 students had the opportunity to share their musical talents at our 2026 Amadeus Showcase.

Families enjoyed performances featuring the flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, flugelhorn, saxophone, violin, viola and cello. It was fantastic to see the students perform with such confidence and to hear how much they have learnt. We are so proud of every one of you! β€οΈπŸ‘

Thank you to all the parents, carers and grandparents who joined us and encouraged our young musicians.

A big thank you also to our Amadeus tutors for the time, patience and enthusiasm they give to our students, and to Sydney Catholic Schools for providing students in Years 3 to 6 with this wonderful opportunity to learn an orchestral instrument at school. πŸ’™πŸŽ»πŸŽΊ

πŸ’› R U OK? Day πŸ’›

Today our students added a splash of yellow to their uniforms as we marked R U OK? Day at St Michael’s.

Throughout the day, students took part in class activities focused on the importance of checking in with our friends, listening to one another and reminding others that they are never alone.

A highlight was designing their own R U OK? Day T-shirts. Students thought carefully about the message behind the day and created positive designs encouraging kindness, friendship and looking out for one another. πŸ‘•πŸ’› We are looking forward to announcing our winners soon!

πŸ’šπŸ™ Children’s Liturgy of the Word πŸ™πŸ’š

This morning at Children’s Liturgy, we explored Jesus’ Parable of the Unforgiving Servant which is the Gospel for the 24th Sunday in ordinary time.

To help the children understand the parable, using real money, we compared a debt of $100 with a debt of just 50 cents. The children could easily see how unfair it was that the servant had his much larger debt forgiven, but then refused to forgive someone who owed him so little.

We talked about Peter asking Jesus how many times he should forgive someone. Jesus told him, β€œNot seven times, but seventy-seven times.” He wasn’t asking Peter to keep count. He was teaching him to forgive again and again, just as God forgives us.

For today's Gospel symbol, children made pipe-cleaner heart with seven beads on each side. The 7 and 7 will remind them of Jesus’ words and His call to always forgiveβ€οΈπŸ™ There is no children's liturgy next Thursday due to our Ryde Network Mercy Day Pilgrimage- Mercy heritage trail and St Patrick's Cathedral Parramatta but we will see you Friday morning instead 🀍
