We’re looking forward to an action-packed week filled with fun, teamwork, movement and plenty of encouragement as the children take part in a range of sporting activities. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏆

Our outdoor environment is a true extension of our Montessori classroom. 🌿

Designed with purpose, it provides children with opportunities to explore, care for their environment, develop practical life skills, and continue their learning through hands on experiences in nature. ☀️

Introducing Our Montessori Book Nook! 📚🤍✨

We’re excited to introduce our new Montessori Book Nook, designed to encourage a love of reading while fostering independence and responsibility.

At home time, children have the opportunity to choose a book from our Book Nook to take home and enjoy with their family. When they have finished reading it, they can return it and choose another book, or they may bring in a pre-loved book from home to swap for a different one.

This simple book exchange encourages children to care for shared resources, make their own choices, and discover new stories to enjoy. It also helps keep our Book Nook fresh with a variety of books for everyone.

We hope our Montessori Book Nook inspires a lifelong love of reading and creates special moments of shared reading at home.

It will be ready to go starting next week!

It’s been a busy and exciting few weeks here at Montessori! 🤍

This week we are welcoming families into our classrooms for Open Classroom Week from 8:00am–10:00am, giving them the opportunity to experience our calm and purposeful learning environment alongside their children.

Next week, we look forward to coming together as a community for our Biggest Morning Tea, raising funds and awareness for an important cause.

To finish off the term, we will be celebrating our Mid-Year School Leavers as they prepare for their next exciting chapter.

We are soaking up every last moment of Term 2! ✨🤍

☕💛 You’re Invited! 💛☕

Montessori Children’s Centre is proud to be hosting the Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea on Tuesday 23rd June from 9:30am – 11:30am at the McLaren Vale Bowling Club.

We would love for all of our families, friends, and community members to join us for a morning of connection, conversation, and delicious treats while raising funds for an important cause.

Bring your friends, enjoy a cuppa, and help us make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.

🌸 Flower arranging in Montessori is so much more than creating something beautiful. Through this meaningful Practical Life activity, children refine their fine motor skills, concentration, coordination, and control of movement as they carefully pour water, trim stems, and thoughtfully arrange flowers.

Flower arranging also nurtures a sense of responsibility, care for the environment, and pride in contributing to the beauty of the classroom, helping children feel a strong sense of belonging within their community. 🌿✨

💛 Wear It Yellow – National Reconciliation Week 💛

This year, as part of National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June), McLaren Vale Montessori Children’s Centre will be participating in Wear It Yellow to raise funds for Children’s Ground, supporting First Nations-led education, health, employment, and wellbeing for children and families.

We invite our Montessori community to wear a touch of yellow throughout the week, think t-shirts, jumpers, ribbons, hair ties or anything bright and sunny! 💛 Gold coin donations are welcome as we work towards our fundraising goal of $200.

Together, we look forward to celebrating, learning, and honouring the rich cultures of First Nations peoples while supporting a brighter future.
