🏐 VOLLEYBALL QUEENSLAND PRIMARY SCHOOLS CUP 🏐

What a fantastic day for McDowall State School!

Today, 64 athletes represented McDowall at the Volleyball Queensland Primary Schools Cup. With nine teams competing across the Year 5 and 6 divisions, our students performed brilliantly against a range of public and private schools.

After a huge day of competition, McDowall came away with an outstanding:

πŸ₯‡ 1 Gold Medal
πŸ₯ˆ 2 Silver Medals
πŸ₯‰ 3 Bronze Medals

A very special thank you to Ms Henderson, whose dedication to our students and the McDowall volleyball program has been absolutely wonderful. The success of our teams today is a true reflection of the time, energy and enthusiasm she has invested in our students. Thank you, Ms Henderson. We are incredibly grateful for everything you do!

Thank you also to Mrs McMillan and Ms Davis for supporting, encouraging and cheering on our students throughout the day, and to Mr Branford for coming along to support our teams.

Most importantly, congratulations to all 64 McDowall athletes! You have shown tremendous commitment, training up to three times a week throughout the term, and today that hard work was on display. You played with determination, teamwork and terrific sportsmanship, and your teachers were incredibly proud of the way you represented our school.

🎡Instrumental Music Immersion Program 2027🎡

Students in year 2 were treated to a special concert today showcasing our Presto Strings and Rode Band. Ask them to tell you which instruments were their favourites! We also had our battle of the bands performance during the first lunch break for the upper years to see our top ensembles in action. Well done to Rode band for taking the win this year.

The Expression of Interest Survey for all new students wanting to start instruments in 2027 is now open. This is open to all year 2 children, and those children in years 3,4 and 5 that don’t currently play an instrument. Students already playing an instrument in our program do not need to complete the survey. Please find the link below
