Yesterday we had to say goodbye to Jaye Charlton, a Charles Sturt University student from Wagga Wagga, who spent four days observing our Kโ€“2 classroom.

Jaye was such a lovely person to have around the children and it was wonderful to have her with us. We wish her all the very best with her studies and future teaching journey and we hope we see you back at Mayrung to complete your practical component with us Jaye!

๐Ÿ“š What a fantastic Book Week we had! ๐Ÿ“š

Another wonderful day of celebrating books, stories and imagination has come to an end, and what a day it was!

A huge thank you to Karen Druitt for all the time, effort and organisation that went into making the day such a success. This yearโ€™s theme, โ€œSymphony of Stories,โ€ certainly brought out everyoneโ€™s creative side, with staff dressing up and students enthusiastically embracing the spirit of the day.

The celebrations included a student reading a story, an exciting treasure hunt and a colourful parade where everyone had the chance to show off their amazing book character costumes.

To finish the day, parents could join our students for some fun dance moves and grooves, creating a wonderful atmosphere and a memorable finale. ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ•บ

Thank you to everyone who helped make this Book Week such a fun, engaging and memorable experience for our students. What a wonderful celebration of the joy of reading! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ“š

Another great day of learning at Mayrung Public School!

Our students are not only engaging with their departmental curriculum, but also building important everyday skills that help them grow in confidence, independence and responsibility.

And what better way to finish the afternoon than with some fun physical activity, laughter and time together before heading home!

Every day brings new learning, new experiences and plenty of smiles. What a wonderful day for our students!

๐ŸŽถ A Wonderful Musical Experience! ๐ŸŽถ

Yesterday, our students had a wonderful opportunity to develop their creativity, musical understanding and collaboration skills through an engaging and interactive music session.

Students explored a range of instruments and discovered how a guitar, combined with a loop pedal, can be used to create layers of sound. They also explored how rhythm, singing and movement can transform familiar songs into a fun and engaging musical experience. ๐ŸŽธ๐Ÿช‡

To finish the session, students worked together to create a soundscape depicting a storm passing over frogs in a pond. ๐ŸŒง๏ธ๐Ÿธ Through music and sound, they brought the story to life and created an imaginative atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.

A fantastic session filled with creativity, teamwork and, of course, lots of music! ๐ŸŽถโœจ

A big, big Thank you to Dave from South West Music for delivering this engaging session and staff from South West Music Regional Conservatorium for securing a grant to run this workshop.

If you ever thought students at Mayrung might be bored during recess or lunch โ€ฆ. Think again! ๐Ÿ˜„

There are so many things for them to do; discover, play and explore. ๐Ÿƒโšฝ๏ธ

And one of the best parts? Students of all ages and genders play together and simply enjoy being kids. ๐Ÿ’›

Thatโ€™s what school should be all about - connection, inclusion, fun and making memories together!

Pulse 2026 - What a wonderful opportunity for all our students to take part from Kinder to Year 6.

More than 830 students from 15 regional public schools came together in Deniliquin this week for Pulse, the NSW Department of Education Arts Unit's regional performing arts showcase.

Over three days, students participated in music, dance and drama workshops and rehearsals, culminating in two public performances yesterday at the Basket Ball Stadium.

Pulse provides public school students from Kindergarten to Year 12 with the opportunity to develop their talents alongside experienced arts educators in a professional performance environment. The showcase is designed to ensure students in regional communities have access to the same high-quality performing arts experiences as their metropolitan counterparts.

Many tanks for the people who made this possible and a big mention to the Professional Learning Sponsors, Smartau; Transport Partner, SIXT Australia and Supporter Woolworths.

What a wonderful day was had by all at the Small Schools Athletics Carnival.

Our students were fantastic ambassadors for our school and we are so proud of their postive attitude, sportsmanship and encouragement throughout the day.
Medals are a bonus at the end of the day, but the real achievement is so much more than that.
Students learn to step outside their comfort zones, challenge themselves and grow in confidence and make memories that will last a lifetime.

A big Thank you to Blighty Public School for the organisation and the smooth running of the carnval.
It is a fantastic day and we appreciate all the work that went into making it such a success, also a big Thankyou to our parents who supported and cheered our students on.
