And just like that, another Book Week is in the books! 📚

What a week! From much loved characters and colourful costumes to plenty of stories, laughs and a whole lot of imagination, our KOB and BKOB communities certainly got into the Book Week spirit. 🤗

So much learning happens in the moments that simply look like children being children. 🤗

Through play, they’re testing ideas, figuring things out, communicating, building confidence and making sense of the world around them. And alongside them are educators who know when to join in, when to offer a little support, and when to simply let the moment unfold.

At KOB, play isn’t something that happens in between the learning. Play is the learning. 💛

📚 BOOK WEEK IS ALMOST HERE! 📚

Consider this your friendly little reminder to start thinking books, characters and costumes… 👀

Book Week is always such a fun one at KOB & BKOB. It’s a chance for some of our favourite stories to jump off the pages and into the centre, with plenty of imagination, creativity and very excited little book lovers along the way. 💚

So, it might be time to ask your little one who they’d love to come dressed as and get those costumes and favourite books ready!

A little look at what our Beaufort 2 children have been exploring lately. 🌱🐝

After planting our new apple tree for National Tree Day, the children have continued exploring sustainability and the natural world in lots of different ways.

They’ve been saving leftover water from mealtimes to help care for their new tree, investigating flowers with magnifying glasses and learning about the very important job our bees, butterflies and other little insects have in helping things grow. 🦋🌸

What we love is how one experience naturally leads to another. A child noticing pollen on a flower becomes a conversation, which becomes another opportunity to explore, ask questions and discover more. 🤗

A little denim for a very important cause. 👖💙

Our children and educators got behind Jeans for Genes, wearing their denim and taking part in experiences throughout the day that opened up simple conversations around kindness, inclusion and what makes each of us unique.

Jeans for Genes raises vital funds for the Children’s Medical Research Institute, supporting research into genetic conditions and helping scientists work towards better treatments and cures for children.

A BIG thank you to all of our KOB & BKOB families and children who got involved, dressed up, donated or supported the fundraiser in any way. 🫶🏽

We’re very lucky to have a community that continues to get behind causes that make a difference.

This Thursday is Double Donation Day for Jeans for Genes!

From 8am, donations to KOB’s fundraising page will be DOUBLED while matching funds last!

That means your donation can go twice as far to help fund vital research for the 1 in 20 kids facing a birth defect or genetic disease.

If you’ve been meaning to support, donating from 8am this Thursday 6th August will be the best time to donate.

It’s about creating an environment where children are genuinely known, supported and cared for every day.

That’s why we intentionally roster above the required educator-to-child ratios across both Kids on Beaufort and BIG Kids on Beaufort.

More educators means more opportunities for connection, more support when children need it, and more eyes looking out for their wellbeing.
