Hello and welcome!

My name is Skye Harrison and I am the violin teacher here at Soaring Strings Studio.

My love of music began well before my first violin lesson as a 5 year old. Singing and dancing already brought boundless joy into my life, so it was only natural for me to advance into exploring music through instruments. This gentle journey is one I endeavor to guide my students on, providing inspiration through fun and exciting repertoire, games, and exercises.

As a child I worked my way through the first 5 Suzuki levels and then transitioned into the AMEB method, completing 5th-8th Grade exams.
I believe each student has their own unique path and may choose different methods and styles according to their personal interests and goals.

I completed my Bachelor of Music (Classical Violin Performance) in 2013 at the Newcastle Conservatorium. Throughout my degree and in the years since I have greatly enjoyed playing in various orchestras, string quartets, and contemporary bands.
I recently released my second album with my folk band called As of sky, you will find it on all the normal platforms.

Though violin is my forte, I also enjoy teaching beginner guitar and ukulele to young students.
