Ngarang-Wal Gold Coast Aboriginal Association Incorporated We are the Nerang River tribe of the Gold Coast, Kombumerri Country. Ngarang-Wal G.C.A.A Inc.

Ngarang-Wal Elders created this as our legacy, and we carry on their dreams and goals of environmental conservation, while keeping our Ngarang-Wal clan employed and build our own economy Ngarang-Wal Gold Coast Aboriginal Association are the traditional owners of the Gold Coast area known as the Kombumerri people. We have a unique dialect from our Wider Bundjalung language group - no affiliations w

ith Yugambeh - it is only used as a sub-language fill-in for our lost verbal languages - that’s the extent of their use here for us Kombumerri.
**please ignore claims to our Kombumerri heritage from pages like Yugmabeh Nation that falsify facts and claim our group as a sub of them - this is highly false and inaccurate, we are our own people and mob separate from their regional claims over us!!
***AIATSIS map is accurate, we are part of the Bundjalung Saltwater Nation of languages!! Our traditional area stretches from Tweed River up to Coomera River, west to the Hinterland and along to coastal regions. are the traditional custodians of Guanaba Indigenous Protected Area, located in our glorious Hinterland. We use this Protected Area for training, education, environmental conservation and traditional uses. We teach Indigenous culture, lifestyle, social history and traditions. We offer in-class visits or field trips to our Indigenous Protected Area located at Guanaba. Meets ACARA Cross-curriculum priorities for Years 4-12, such as:

Hi everyone, since we have been busy doing our annual reporting all last month and now looking forward to preparing the annual grant audit process next…🫠 anyhoo we thought we might share some information about the year we had while we are collating data!

-From July 2025 to June 30 2026 our Board of Directors consisted of members that are Kombumerri descendants only. Five of us managing the Ngarang-Wal business and programs - we are 100% Kombumerri owned and managed 😃

-We represent around 73 members - with 45 of them being Kombumerri bloodline specifically!! 🔗
-We have a secondary ‘friends of’ type support membership line if you’re interested in supporting our group.

-Our main income is from NIAA for:
•Guanaba Indigenous Protected Area (IPA) and;
•Indigenous Ranger Program (IRP).

-We have been lucky enough to be invited around our Kombumerri Country to do ceremony, lessons for all ages, awareness and history talks, guided tours, and welcome experiences. We are trying to build our own economy. But it means having to leave these funded programs and make up hours for them later - so we charge $$ for events!! ⭐️

Our data shows we had -
•28 casual workers on our books to help at the Guanaba IPA and events all over Kombumerri Country 🫶🏽
•20 of the 28 workers we employed are Indigenous identified!! 🙌🏼
•8 of the 28 are non-Indigenous deadly family and friends attached to our wonderful workers✌🏽
•5 of the 28 are Kombumerri 🎉
•3 full time staff and 1 part time for the funded programs - 3 Indigenous and 1 non-Indigenous 💪🏽

•Annual amount of events and engagements = 125+ with over 100+ providers that sourced our business 🖤
•Reconciliation Week & NAIDOC 2026 engagements = 32 💛
•Guanaba IPA annual visits = 800+ sign ins ❤️

We may need to increase our fees with all this workload!! 😁 thank you to our deadly City businesses and groups that continue to support us every year, we are inspired daily to care for culture and Country.

Check out some pics of our deadly work teams you may have seen around Kombumerri Country!! 👇🏽

Let us know where you seen us at and tag any groups that would like to mention 📝

Resharing our deadly Uncle Colin Dillon’s video from Reconciliation Week, his message is important for all of us but especially empowering to us Dillon kin - he is one of the family role models who shows us how to be fair, honest and equitable!!

Uncle set a standard for honesty & integrity, and everyday we live our truth despite continuous misconceptions trying to continually suppress us Kombumerri on our own Country.

It was Uncle Colin that showed us how important it is to never give up on what’s right ✊🏽 thank you for being a deadly leader Uncle Colin Dillon 🖤💛❤️
