This is NOT how most 9-year-olds spend their school holidays ☺️

While many kids are enjoying playdates, going on holidays, or simply taking a break, Glenn spends some of his school holidays growing up alongside our family business.

At just 9 years old, he helps us run our 3D Print Kids Academy school holiday programs.

He welcomes families, helps during activities, shares what he’s learned, makes new friends, and gets to see other kids discover the joy of creating something with their own hands.

But what he’s learning goes far beyond 3D printing.

He’s learning how to communicate.
How to be patient.
How to take responsibility.
How to help others.
How to work as a team.
And how something that starts as a small idea can grow into something bigger than you imagined.

We don’t expect him to grow up too quickly.

He’s still 9. He still plays, laughs, gets silly, and enjoys being a kid 😄

But we’re grateful that he gets to experience these little moments while he’s growing up 🥹🫶🏻

Because childhood isn’t only about the places you go.

Sometimes, it’s about the people you meet, the things you learn, the memories you create, and the little experiences that shape you along the way 💛

One day, he may not remember every school holiday…

But we hope he remembers that he was part of something our family built together 🙏🏻🥰

And maybe, years from now, he’ll look back at these moments and realise…

He wasn’t just helping his parents.
He was learning how to build something of his own ✨

Can’t believe it’s already the end of the term! ✨

Our Term 3 students have been busy designing, creating and 3D printing their very own carnival-themed creations and now it’s time to bring them to life!

10,000 people 🥹🫶🏻

Honestly, we don’t even know how to put this into words.

When we first started OMG Labs, we were just a mum and dad with an idea we believed in.. combining our love for creativity, kids and 3D printing, and somehow turning it into something of our own 💛

We didn’t know where it would take us.

We didn’t know if people would care about what we were creating.

We definitely didn’t imagine that one day, 10,000 people would choose to follow along 🥲

Behind this account is a family business. Two parents figuring things out as we go, two little boys growing up alongside it, printers running late into the night, countless ideas, mistakes, packing orders, teaching classes, cleaning up, starting again… and a whole lot of love for what we’re building together.

And behind every single follower is a real person ✨

Someone who chose to follow our journey, support our little business, share our creations, book a class, visit our shop, buy something we made, recommend us to a friend, or simply cheer us on from behind a screen 🙏🏻

You might see a 3D print on your feed.

But we see a little family dream that you helped make possible.

Our boys are growing up watching this business grow, and we hope one day they’ll look back and remember not just the things we made, but the people who believed in us along the way.

10,000 feels like so much more than a number.

It’s 10,000 little reminders that what we’re building matters to someone.

Sometimes, you don’t realise how big a dream can become when you’re standing at the beginning 💛

It all started with just 4 students — our son, our niece, our neighbour, and one of our son’s friends.

We started our 3D printing business from our guest room at home, with a few printers, a tiny space, and 4 kids excited to create.

So 6 months later, we took a leap of faith and moved into a bigger space.

Our goal was never just to teach 3D printing. We wanted to create a place where kids could be curious, experiment, solve problems, build confidence, and believe their ideas are worth creating ✨

And now, just one year later, 150+ students have come through our makerspace through our school holiday and tutoring programs 🥹

From 4 kids in our guest room to 150+ young makers walking through our doors is something that we couldn’t imagine!

To every business owner starting small: don’t underestimate your beginning. Keep showing up, keep building, and keep believing. Your small beginning might become something much bigger than you imagined ✨
