On Friday 3 July, JJ celebrated NAIDOC Week with the theme "50 Years of Deadly." The day began with an inspiring student-led assembly featuring special guest speeches from Aunty Karen Brown and Olivia Patten. This was followed by an amazing student performance, taught by Aunty Kerry Johnson, Maci-Grace Johnson and Ephraim Bani from Burrundi Theatre. In the afternoon, students enjoyed whole-school activities while everyone was treated to a delicious lunch of curry chicken, curry sausages, and damper, prepared by our talented Hospitality team. Volleyball School Cup – Term 2, Sydney Olympic Park

Girls Team
The girls competed in Year 11 competition, which is one division higher. They were also down two senior players, who were replaced by Alicia A and Ava K from Year 8, and with a last-minute transfer of Mariam N from the boys’ team to the girls’ team.
The girls played five games for 7th place.
1 win
1 loss
3 draws

Boys Team
The boys competed in the Year 12 division and played four games, for 3rd place /24 teams.
3 wins
1 loss (Semifinal)
They displayed a tremendous level of volleyball. In the semifinal, against a very experienced team, they lost the deciding set 15–14. It was almost a perfect display of athleticism and high-level volleyball, and I was extremely proud by what they achieved.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this possible. The commitment, support, and teamwork shown by staff and students have been outstanding.
