🌭 Volunteers Needed – Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser! 🌭

Our P&C is hosting a Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser, and we'd love your help! Even if you can only spare 2 hours, your time will make a real difference.

📅 Date: Sunday, 2 August 2026
🕗 Event Time: 8:00am – 4:00pm
⏰ Volunteer Commitment: Just 2 hours

Bunnings: Minmi Road, Wallsend

We need 10–12 volunteers across the day. Simply choose the shift that suits you best:

🌭 8:00am – 10:00am
🌭 10:00am – 12:00pm
🌭 12:00pm – 2:00pm
🌭 2:00pm – 4:00pm

Whether you're cooking the BBQ, serving customers, or helping with setup and pack-up, every helping hand is greatly appreciated.

Good morning everyone!

Over the school holidays we tackled the mountain of lost property and washed and dried more than 50 school jumpers!

Out of all those jumpers, only five had clear names on them, so they're ready to be returned to their owners next week. A few others had initials, which definitely helps, but with over 600 students it's almost impossible to work out who they belong to. Attached are photos of initials, if they are your items please comment.

This is a friendly reminder to please label your child's uniform with their full name (or at least their surname). It makes returning lost items so much quicker and means they're far more likely to make it back home.

If you need labels, iron-on name labels are available to purchase through Flexischools for just $1 each. It's a simple way to save a lot of hassle if a jumper goes missing.

We've also ended up with a few non-uniform items in Lost Property that we'd love to return. If you recognise anything in the photos below, please leave a comment and we'll happily organise for it to be sent home via the school office.

A reminder that our second hand uniform shop is currenlty having a sale via Flexschools - orders close 5 July or until sold out.

Tried of losing uniforms?

Fun fact: Many of the uniforms that end up in lost property never get returned and end up in our second hand uniform shop becuase we don't know who to return them to.

As you can imagine, someone has to wash all those uniforms before they make their way to the second hand uniform shop and is only made possible through the tireless efforts of one of our P&C members. The feedback we recieve is that every piece of uniform that never gets claimed or returned is purely due to their being no names on the clothing.

We would love to help parents out here and to help reduce the cost to parents through having to re-order uniforms, our P&C is offering to do the ironing labels for you for $1.

McDonald's Family Fundraising Night 🍟

Need an easy dinner idea? We've got you covered!

If we have at least 30 people participate, McDonald's will donate 10% of all sales during that hour back to our school community.

These fundraising nights are a simple way to support the P&C while grabbing a meal for the family.

Join us at McDonald's on Tuesday 23 June between 6:00pm and 7:00pm. Whether you order through the drive-through or dine in, simply let the crew know you're supporting the GPS P&C.

Just a reminder about our upcoming McDonalds Fundraiser on next Tuesday, 23 June 2026.

We need to ensure a minimum of 30 people in attendance during the allocated time slot of 6:00 and 7:00pm so if you can come along and support us, that would be really great. Understand if you have after school committements on that evening and can't make it. However, if you have some capacity to attend, we would be grateful. No volunteering. No cooking. Winner, Winner Macca's for dinner. 😉

Double Glazed Window Frames

Our school P&C is looking to clear surplus double glazed window frames originally purchased for a project that did not proceed.

Details:

Quantity: 8 window frames
Frame size: L 2334mm x H 680mm x W 100mm
Window opening: L 510mm x H 590mm
Double glazed glass
Extremely heavy-duty units
One frame has one double-glazed panel missing
Originally purchased for approximately $3,200.

The P&C understands we are unlikely to recover full cost, however we would welcome reasonable offers or donations, with proceeds ultimately going back into our school.

These may suit a builder, renovator, shed/workshop project, or someone looking for quality second-hand glazing materials.
