🏐 Year 7 Volleyball Team Shows Outstanding Commitment 🏐

School holidays are often a time to rest and recharge, but a dedicated group of our Year 7 Volleyball players chose to spend part of their break on the court, taking part in a four-hour training session to prepare for an exciting competition season.

The energy and enthusiasm on display throughout the session were fantastic. Players worked hard to develop their skills, strengthen team connections, and challenge themselves to improve, all while enjoying the opportunity to train together outside of normal school hours.

The session forms part of the team's preparation for two major upcoming events:
🏐 Queensland Junior Cup on the Gold Coast
🏐 Wide Bay Challenge at Aldridge State High School

These tournaments will provide valuable opportunities for our students to test themselves against strong opposition and represent Riverside with pride.

A special congratulations goes to both the players and coaches who gave up their holiday time to be there. Their commitment, positive attitude, and willingness to put in the extra work are qualities that will serve them well both on and off the volleyball court.

We are incredibly proud of the dedication shown by our Year 7 team and look forward to following their journey in the weeks ahead. We wish them every success at both upcoming competitions and can't wait to see their hard work pay off.

🌱🐄 Learning Comes to Life at the College Farm! 🌱🐄

Year 3 enjoyed a visit to the College Farm as part of their Science learning about the life cycles of plants and animals.

Students planted the beans they have been growing in class and explored the different stages of plant growth. They also had the opportunity to learn more about the animals on our College Farm, observing the differences between baby and adult animals and making connections to their learning about animal life cycles.

It was a wonderful hands-on opportunity to bring our Science learning to life! 💙💛

📣 Happy HR Professional Day! 🎉

Today we celebrate Angie, whose work in HR goes far beyond paperwork and processes. Not only does she provide executive support for Mrs Gouge, she also supports our staff with care, clarity, and innovation. That kind of support flows directly to our students. If you’ve ever seen how quickly she turns an idea into action, or how she solves problems before they even land, you know the difference she makes every day.

Behind so many smooth processes, quick solutions, and staff wins at RCC is Angie. She brings creativity, compassion, and a deep commitment to helping our people thrive!

Thank you, Angie, for the countless ways you strengthen our College.

Happy HR Professional Day! 💙👏

📸 Road Safety in Action! 🚦🛴🚲

Last term the RACQ Education Team visited Riverside and delivered the Streets Ahead program.

Through fun and interactive activities, students learned important road safety skills, including how to cross the road safely, wear a helmet correctly, and be safe and responsible passengers in a vehicle.

Our students loved getting involved and came away with practical tips they can use every day when out and about in the community as pedestrians, bike and scooter riders, and passengers.

A big thank you to the Education Team for spending time with our students and helping them build safe habits for life! 👏💛💙
