πΆπ Sunbury Singstars Share the Joy of Music ππΆ
This week, our Sunbury Singstars visited Fair Haven Aged Care and shared a wonderful morning of music, kindness and community connection.
Twenty-one students performed a selection of songs for residents, encouraging everyone to join in through singing, percussion and actions. The students were outstanding ambassadors for our school, demonstrating confidence, respect and compassion throughout the visit.
The group also shared handmade beanies, homemade jelly slice, and chocolates with residents. These thoughtful gifts were made possible through the generosity of our school community, including donated wool, community volunteers, the Rolfe family and our Year 6 Leadership Recycling Project.
This experience was a wonderful example of our school values in action, showing empathy, gratitude and the positive impact that even small acts of kindness can have on others.
A huge thank you to Mrs Frohloff, Mrs Harding, Ms Amanda, Mrs Yates, our supportive staff, families and community members who helped make this special visit possible.
We are incredibly proud of our Singstars and look forward to sharing more music and joy with the Fair Haven community in Term 3. π΅β¨

Students have been working with Aunty Sue during play breaks to create a series of beautiful Indigenous-inspired artworks for display around our school.
Using canvas boards kindly donated by Aunty Sue, students have been exploring culture, creativity and storytelling through art while contributing to artworks that will brighten our school walkways for years to come.
A huge thank you to Aunty Sue for her generosity in donating more than 40 canvas boards and for sharing her time, knowledge and passion with our students.
We canβt wait to share the finished pieces with our school community. π¨β¨

π€πβ€οΈ Reconciliation Week Artwork β€οΈππ€
Over the past few weeks, our students have been exploring the importance of Reconciliation through learning, discussion, creativity and collaboration.
Working alongside Aunty Sue and supported by our Cultural and Art Leaders, students helped create these beautiful collaborative artworks which are now proudly displayed around our school.
Each piece reflects student creativity, teamwork and the shared understanding that reconciliation is about learning from one another, building respectful relationships and celebrating the rich cultures and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
A big thank you to Aunty Sue, Mrs Frohloff, our student leaders, staff and students for their time, guidance and enthusiasm throughout these activities.
We are incredibly proud of what our students have created. π€πβ€οΈ

What an awesome Sports Day we had at Sunbury State School!
Our students were absolutely wonderful throughout the day. They showed excitement, teamwork, encouragement and genuine sportsmanship across the track, field events, relays, war cries and house activities. It was fantastic to see so much colour, energy and Sunbury spirit on display.
A huge thank you to every staff member of Sunbury State School. What an amazing team we have! Days like this only happen because so many people pitch in, support students, solve problems, cheer loudly and keep everything moving.
Special thanks also to Kirsty our P&C president, the wonderful Helping Hands team, Mr Werder our PE teacher, Heath and his brother for the setup and pack-up as well as being the starter for the day, Chappy Jason for marshalling, Mrs Gambie for stepping in to support recording, and Mrs Wieland for keeping the day running so smoothly over the PA.
Thank you also to the Lions Club and Burrum Brews & Bites for supporting our school community throughout the day.
