10-12yr Girls and Boys Netball Trials

At this stage we are planning to go ahead with the 10-12yr Girls and Boys Netball Trials scheduled to be held in Gympie on Tuesday 17 March.

We will continue to monitor road conditions and the impact of flooding on families who are due to attend trials and advise of any changes if necessary.

Cluster 3 13-19yr Touch, Golf, Hockey, RU7's and Volleyball Trials - Rescheduled

With the recent flooding around our region and in particular North Burnett and Bundaberg – we have decided to reschedule the Cluster 3 Trials for 13-19yr Touch, Golf, Hockey, RU7's and Volleyball Trials to Thursday 26 March.

This will ensure more time for any road repairs on rural roads heading to and from Gayndah and for Bundaberg District to complete trials, especially when many people in their district are affected by the recent flooding.

The only venue change will be for Boys Volleyball which will now be at Fraser Coast Anglican College in their indoor sports facility.

Thanks for your understanding, it has been a challenging time for many students, schools, staff and families in our region.

The 13-15yr and 16-19yr Girls and Boys Football Trials have been rescheduled for Wednesday 25th February.

The venue will still be the Gympie Football Fields at One Mile Oval.

Good morning everyone

The status of trials scheduled for tomorrow is listed in the table below.

Unfortunately, the fields at One Mile where our WBSS Football Trials were scheduled to be held will be too wet and will not be available.

A rescheduled date for our 13-15yr and 16-19yr Girls and Boys Football Trials will be advertised ASAP.

Netball and Rugby League Trials will continue as scheduled.

13-19yr Softball Trials - Wednesday 4 Feb

At this stage the WBSS 13-19yr Girls and Boys Softball Trials will be going ahead as scheduled i Maryborough on Wednesday 4 Feb.

The BOM is recording only 2.8mm here in Maryborough today.

If there is any heavy rain this afternoon or overnight we will make a call on postponing the trials by 5am so we can hopefully catch people before they leave home.

Please check emails or the Wide Bay page for any updates – if no Facebook or email updates early tomorrow morning the trials will be going ahead.

Volunteers for QRSS Triathlon and Aquathlon Championships 5 - 7 February 2026 - Hervey Bay

Just a call out for anybody able to volunteer a few hours of their time to help out at the 2026 QRSS Triathlon and Aquathlon Championships being held in Hervey Bay from 5-7 February.

Approximate race times:

Thursday 5 Feb for Aquathlon Events 8.30am - 1.30pm
Friday 6 Feb for Individual Triathlon 7.30am - 11.30am
Saturday 7 Feb for Relays 7.45am - 10.45am

13-19yr Tennis Trials in Bundaberg will go ahead as planned today. Weather is looking ok and the synthetic grass surface on courts will allow trials to go ahead even if there are showers.

15-16yr Boys Futsal Trial Reminder!!!

For any officials, parents and spectators attending the 15-16yr Boys Futsal Trials at Maryborough State High School today - please ensure you go to the admin building when you arrive and sign in as a visitor.

Venue Changes for Futsal and Cricket Trials

Good morning everyone

We were informed yesterday that the Cricket Wickets and Ovals at Murgon would be unavailable for next Thursday 28 August and Friday 29 August for our rescheduled trials.

This has meant we have had to do a major reshuffle of venues to source some cricket wickets and this also impacts on Futsal venues as well with districts using buses to transport students to Cricket and Futsal trials.

Venues will now be as outlined below:

Boys Cricket 13-14yr Boys Maryborough Cricket Club Thursday 28 August 9.00am -2.00pm

Girls Cricket 13-14yr and 15-19yr Girls Maryborough Cricket Club Thursday 28 August 9.00am -2.00pm

Boys Cricket 15-19yr Boys Maryborough Cricket Club Friday 29 August 9.00am – 2.00pm

Futsal 13-14yr Girls and 15-16yr Girls Aldridge SHS Friday 29 August 9.00am – 2.00pm

Futsal 13-14yr Boys St Marys Catholic College Friday 29 August 9.00am – 2.00pm

Futsal 15-16 Boys Maryborough SHS
(Officials and Parents are required to sign in on arrival at MSHS Admin) Friday 29 August 9.00am – 2.00pm

We appreciate this is a major inconvenience to change travel and accommodation plans and bookings that you may have made – however finding new venues was the only viable option to ensure we can conduct these trials.

Good morning everyone

With the rainfall already received and the forecast for more in Murgon today and tomorrow we will need to postpone the Cricket and Futsal Trials scheduled for this Thursday and Friday.

We will push back the trials to Thursday 28 (13-14yr Girls and Boys Cricket and 15-19yr Girls Cricket) and Friday 29 August (15-19yr Boys Cricket and 13-14yr & 15-16yr Boys and Girls Futsal).

Same times and venues will be used and postponing Futsal also will allow districts using buses to maintain their plans – just rescheduled dates.
