These talented athletes have qualified to compete at the 2026 Wide Bay School Sport 10-19 Years Track and Field Trials in Bundaberg on 27-28 August.

Representing the Maryborough District School Sports Representative Team is a fantastic achievement and a testament to their hard work and dedication.

We are incredibly proud of you and wish you all the very best for the upcoming event. We hope that you enjoy every moment of this exciting opportunity! ⭐

On Tuesday afternoon, we welcomed twins... twin lambs, that is! 🐏🐏

Earlier in the day, students in our Alternative Ag farm program watched one of our ewes go into active labour. Mr Kraut taught the group about the signs and signals indicating she was close to delivering her babies. By late afternoon, the farm team could see the ewe was struggling to deliver so Mr Kraut and Ms Hillier stepped in to assist. Together, they safely delivered two healthy baby rams.

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FAR BEYOUND THE CLASSROOM

Distance Education students at Riverside Christian College continue to prove that learning opportunities are always available to them, and often far beyond the traditional classroom !

Our DE students have access to a wide range of learning tools, enrichment activities, and academic competitions, ensuring they are never disadvantaged by studying from home. Recently, a number of our students embraced the chance to participate in the ICAS assessments, challenging themselves and showcasing their skills alongside students across Australia.

We are so proud of their commitment and enthusiasm, and we can't wait to hear the results! 🌟

My reason for choosing DE:
We were requiring a Distance DE option as Allie was experiencing too much anxiety in a regular school setting.

Riverside was recommended in online groups that I was searching through.

I really liked the option of a resource pack posted out for each term, as I want a balance for Allie between computer-based, paper-based and practical learning experiences, and not just all online like some distance education schools offer.
I also liked that Riverside has social days on the Sunshine Coast and other regions, and they include learning experiences along with fun things for the kids that come along. Other distance education schools only offered their social days in Brisbane or they held them at game arcades and other places not suitable for my Year 3 daughter to attend.
The program has given my daughter the chance to get back to enjoying her learning, and her reduced levels of anxiety has been so refreshing. We are very happy that we made the change and chose Distance Education at Riverside Christian College!
