Our National Science Day celebrations at Marsden Early Learning College were filled with exploration, experimentation and enthusiastic young minds!

Science in early childhood is about much more than experiments. It's about encouraging children to ask questions, make predictions, test their ideas and think about why things happen.

Through yesterday's hands-on experiences, our children practised concentration, problem-solving, teamwork and communication while discovering that sometimes an unexpected result can lead to the most exciting learning.

We loved watching their curiosity come alive as they explored science through play and discovery.

🧪⚗️ SCIENCE, DISCOVERY & LOTS OF WOW MOMENTS! ⚗️🧪

Yesterday was all about experimenting, investigating and discovering as our children at Marsden Early Learning College celebrated National Science Day!

Our young scientists participated in hands-on science experiences that encouraged them to observe closely, make predictions, explore cause and effect and discover what happens when we experiment with different materials.

The excitement on their faces as something changed, moved, bubbled or surprised them was priceless!

Through playful science experiences, children develop curiosity, confidence, problem-solving skills and an understanding of the world around them.

🏅🎉 WHAT A FINISH TO OUR MINI OLYMPICS! 🎉🏅

Our Senior Mini Olympics on 14 August brought two fantastic days of sporting fun at Marsden Early Learning College to a memorable conclusion.

Our children challenged themselves, celebrated personal achievements and demonstrated wonderful sportsmanship throughout the events.

There were victories to celebrate, challenges to overcome and countless moments of children cheering each other on. Most importantly, our Senior children learned that being a great athlete isn't simply about winning—it's about participating, persevering, respecting others and giving your best effort.

Congratulations to every child who participated in our 2026 Mini Olympics. You made us proud! 🏆💚

🔥🏆 THE SENIORS ACCEPTED THE CHALLENGE! 🏆🔥

On 14 August, our Senior children at Marsden Early Learning College stepped up for an action-packed day of Mini Olympics competition!

Our older athletes participated enthusiastically in sporting challenges that encouraged speed, agility, coordination, concentration and teamwork.

The excitement of friendly competition brought plenty of cheers, but the highlight was watching children support their friends, demonstrate resilience and keep trying when activities became challenging.

🎉🏆 CHEERS FOR OUR LITTLE CHAMPIONS! 🏆🎉

What a wonderful day of friendship and movement during our Junior Mini Olympics on 13 August at Marsden Early Learning College!

Our children embraced each activity with enthusiasm while developing important physical and social skills through play.

We saw children patiently waiting for turns, encouraging their friends, listening to instructions and celebrating one another's achievements. Those moments of kindness and teamwork made us just as proud as their sporting accomplishments.

Mini Olympics is about giving every child the opportunity to participate, experience success and discover the joy of being active.

🏅💚 OUR JUNIOR MINI OLYMPIANS ARE OFF AND RACING! 💚🏅

On 13 August, our youngest competitors at Marsden Early Learning College enjoyed their very own Junior Mini Olympics!

The children enthusiastically participated in fun movement challenges and Olympic-inspired activities that encouraged running, throwing, balancing, coordination and plenty of active play.

For our little athletes, the greatest victory was joining in, trying something new and having fun with their friends.

Their excitement, determination and proud little smiles made the day absolutely wonderful!

🎠🌟 EKKA PUBLIC HOLIDAY – FAMILY REMINDER 🌟🎠

Marsden Early Learning College families, please remember that our college follows the Logan City EKKA Public Holiday.

🔴 Monday, 10 August 2026 – COLLEGE CLOSED
🟢 Tuesday, 11 August – OPEN as usual
🟢 Wednesday, 12 August – OPEN as usual

Although the Brisbane EKKA Public Holiday falls on Wednesday, 12 August, Marsden Early Learning College is located within Logan and therefore observes the public holiday on Monday, 10 August.

We will be ready to welcome all our children back on Tuesday and will remain OPEN on Wednesday, 12 August as normal.

Enjoy the long weekend, and have a wonderful EKKA holiday! 🎡🐄💚

As we wrap up a wonderful week of learning, we celebrate all the little environmental champions at Marsden Early Learning College!

Throughout Keep Australia Beautiful Week, our children have explored recycling, sustainability, reducing waste and caring for the natural spaces around them through meaningful hands-on experiences.

The week may be ending, but our commitment doesn't stop here. Caring for our gardens, respecting nature, reducing waste and keeping our college and community beautiful are values we continue to encourage throughout the year.

Our Keep Australia Beautiful Week experiences have sparked so many wonderful conversations and discoveries at Marsden Early Learning College.

Through art, nature-based learning, recycling experiences and practical activities, our children have been exploring what it means to care for our planet.

They are learning that protecting the environment doesn't always require something big—turning off unnecessary lights, saving water, recycling, reducing waste and caring for plants are all meaningful ways to help.

By building these habits early, we are nurturing children who value and respect the world they will inherit. 💚

♻️🌿 CARING FOR OUR COMMUNITY TOGETHER 🌿♻️

Today, our Marsden Early Learning College children continued putting the message of Keep Australia Beautiful Week into practice.

The children explored simple ways to care for the places where we live, learn and play—from putting rubbish where it belongs and sorting recyclable materials to caring for plants and respecting our natural environment.

Working together gave children opportunities to practise responsibility, cooperation and problem-solving while seeing that their actions can make a real difference.
