🌟 SPOTLIGHT ON 2B 🌟

Music lessons on Friday afternoons are always a highlight in 2B, with lots of positive energy and smiles! So far, we have focused on how the beat and tempo can change in different types of music. We have enjoyed using body percussion to clap the changing beat and march around the classroom to keep in time with the tempo. 🎢πŸ₯

β™ŸοΈ INTERSCHOOL CHESS SEMI-FINAL β™ŸοΈ

Today, five students proudly represented Northbourne at the Interschool Chess Challenge Semi-Final, held at Australian Christian College.

Across a seven-round Swiss-style competition, our students put their strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to the test, carefully planning their moves and challenging their opponents across the chessboard.

Although our Interschool Chess Challenge journey ends at the Semi-Final, our students should be incredibly proud of how far they have progressed and the determination they demonstrated throughout the competition.

Congratulations to our chess semi-finalists on an outstanding achievement and for representing the Northbourne community with pride! πŸ‘βοΈ

🌟 SPOTLIGHT ON KEJ 🌟

During Term 3, KEJ have been exploring their creative and social development through working together to construct a very impressive double car garage using the magnetic shapes; serving each other in our classroom canteen, drawing, making paper aeroplanes and giant toothbrushes using paper, markers and tape. πŸ“š BEING INDY πŸ¦β€β¬›

Today, students from K–6 were treated to a fantastic Books To Life performance of Being Indy, with the story unfolding on stage through storytelling, song, dance and, of course, the cheekiest of puppets β€” Percival!

Being Indy is a colourful and heartfelt story about trying to fit in, finding the courage to be yourself and discovering the importance of kindness, acceptance and belonging.

Our students absolutely loved the performance, with plenty of laughter, excitement and audience participation along the way!

Making the experience even more special, we were delighted to welcome author Zoe Gaetjens, who joined us in the audience to watch her very own story come to life on the Northbourne stage.

What a fantastic way to kick off our 2026 Book Week celebrations and experience the magic of Books to Life! πŸ“–βœ¨
