Creating a safe sleep environment is one of the many ways we care for children each day. From following safe sleep practices and using approved cots, to completing visual checks every 5 minutes, our educators take every step to help children rest safely and comfortably.

We also work closely with families to understand each child's individual sleep routine, because feeling safe, settled and well-rested helps children learn, grow and thrive.

✨ A Wonderful School Transition Experience! ✨

Last week, some of our children who will be attending Northbourne Public School had the wonderful opportunity to visit the school and participate in a special Story Time session 🏫💙

It was a lovely experience for the children to become familiar with their future school environment, connect with the school community and enjoy a story together.

Experiences like these help support our children’s confidence and make their transition to big school a positive and exciting experience. We are so proud of our little learners! 💙

For the second year in a row, we are incredibly proud and honored to receive the Schools Industry Partnership Excellence Award! 🏆

This recognition means so much to us and reflects our commitment to supporting students throughout their work placement journey. We are passionate about providing young people with valuable opportunities to learn, gain experience, develop their skills and build confidence for their future careers. 💚

🌟 Celebrating Educators’ Day – 3rd September! 🌟

On 3rd September, we had the pleasure of celebrating our amazing educators and recognising the incredible work they do every day. 💛

It was so beautiful and heartwarming to see our families take the time to write lovely appreciation messages for our educators. Your kind words and thoughtful messages meant so much to our team and truly made the day extra special. 🥰

🦷✨ Learning About Healthy Teeth in Preschool 1! ✨🦷

We had a wonderful visit from one of our Preschool 1 parents, who is a dentist! 🥰

She spent some time with the children talking about healthy eating and looking after our teeth. The children had lots of fun learning about which foods help keep our teeth healthy, why brushing our teeth is important, and how we can take care of our beautiful smiles. 🪥😁

It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn from a member of our own centre community and connect their learning to everyday life.

A big thank you to our wonderful Preschool 1 parent for taking the time to visit us and share your knowledge with the children. We truly appreciate your support and contribution to our learning community! 💕🌱

Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

Take another look through your What & When for Families guide to explore age-appropriate activities and learning ideas you can try together.

🔎❤️ Where’s Wally… and what are we learning tonight? 🩺💙

You may spot a familiar red-and-white-striped character in these photos! 😄 With Book Week celebrations in full swing, even our Director, Farjana, brought a little Book Week spirit along to our team meeting as Wally! 📚🔴⚪

But behind the fun was some very important professional learning. Our educators came together for a Medical Management Toybox Talk, strengthening our shared understanding of children’s medical and dietary needs, current medical/action plans, safe medication administration and the importance of genuine double-checking and clear communication.

Because when it comes to children’s health, wellbeing and safety, we don’t want to be asking “Where’s Wally?” — we want every educator to know where the important information is, what the plan says, what action to take and how to keep every child safe. 🫶

A little Book Week fun, mixed with some very important learning and reflection! ❤️📚🩺
