Australian drone licences are now recognised in New Zealand

Australian remote pilot licence (RePL) holders can now have their qualifications recognised in New Zealand following an announcement from the NZ Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

The New Zealand regulator confirmed CASA-issued RePL qualifications are approved to fulfil the pilot qualification requirements for flying within 4km of aerodromes.

If you are planning to fly in the land of the long white cloud, remember to refresh your knowledge of their drone laws and regulations. This is great news for Australian drone licence holders!

This is huge news: CASA has opened applications for BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) approvals. This is a very big development for the industry.

"New guidance material is now available to help you when applying to conduct remotely piloted aircraft operations beyond visual line-of-sight (BVLOS).

These materials were developed by CASA in response to industry feedback and aim to make it quicker and easier for you to apply to fly BVLOS."
