Did you know? ATPCA has been shaping tennis coaches since 1967.

That's 59 years of practical training, on-court excellence, and building a community of coaches who actually know their stuff. While other providers were promising shortcuts, ATPCA was busy creating the real deal: short courses that deliver lifelong skills.

In the '60s, it was ground-breaking to focus on hands-on coaching rather than theory. In 2026, it's still our core belief. We don't do fluff. We do proven, practical, on-court training that gets results.

🎾 THURSDAY CLASSIC: A Tennis Legend's Wisdom 🎾

"The serve is a gift. If you get a gift, you don't deny it." — Pete Sampras

This quote hits hard for coaches. It reminds us that every student has innate strengths—our job is to identify them, develop them, and help students embrace them.

Some students are natural net players. Others have a devastating forehand. Some have mental toughness that's unshakeable.

Don't force a square peg into a round hole. Instead:
✅ Observe what comes naturally to each student
✅ Build lessons around their strengths first
✅ Develop weaknesses from that foundation of confidence
✅ Let them own their unique playing style

The coaches who win? They build champions by honoring what makes each student special, then sharpening the edges.

A proper warm-up isn't just about getting the blood flowing—it's injury prevention + performance boost.

Here's a coach-tested dynamic warm-up (8-10 mins) your students should be doing before every lesson:

🎾 2 min: Light jogging/movement to elevate heart rate
🎾 Arm circles: 10 forward, 10 back (loosens shoulders)
🎾 Leg swings: 10 each direction per leg (hip mobility)
🎾 Walking lunges: 10 steps with a twist (core + legs)
🎾 Inchworms: 8-10 reps (hamstring + shoulder activation)
🎾 Lateral shuffles: 2 lengths of court each direction (hip activation)
🎾 High knees: 30 seconds (elevate intensity)
🎾 Light hitting practice: Easy groundstrokes, no intensity

Done right, this prep gets students ready to learn AND stays safe.
