In the 1940s, recognising the growing needs of the region, Monsignor Denis Conaghan (Parish Priest of Maroubra from 1939-1954) purchased land to establish a new pa

rish in the Pagewood area. His successor, Monsignor Barney Hudson, (Parish Priest of Maroubra 1954-1974) undertook the formation of the new parish in the late 1950s with the first priest attached to the Pagewood Church, Fr John Power, taking up his position on December 19th 1959. Father Power had a strong desire to provide Catholic schooling for children in the region and went about securing the services of the Marist Brothers to staff the single s*x primary school which commenced in 1961

Huge congratulations to our incredible Girls Oztag team, who have just been crowned the NSW Oztag Secondary School Region Champion of Champions! 🥇

Across two action-packed days of competition, our girls put on an absolute clinic - playing with heart, teamwork, and grit to finish the entire tournament completely undefeated! What an incredible achievement for our school.

Six speakers, one incredible effort! 🎤✨

Our talented team represented the College with absolute distinction at the 34th Marist Oratory Competition hosted by Parramatta Marist High School.

Five of our speakers captivated the audience with brilliantly prepared speeches, while Regan in Year 11 performed incredibly well in the impromptu division - taking on the topic 'The Road Not Taken' with just 30 minutes of preparation!

Congratulations to our full team for stepping up to the mic: Rafael, Ava, Sophie, Marina, Regan and Edward with a special shoutout to Edward (Year 12), who claimed 3rd Place in the Senior Division with his speech on 'Veni, vidi, vici' - 'I came, I saw, I conquered'. 🏆

OUTGOING CAPTAIN SHINES: Living the Marist Way 🏉✨

If you’ve ever wondered what it looks like to live out all five Marist Charisms, look no further than our College Captain, Nate.

Balancing school leadership and studies with elite interstate sport is no small feat. Nate’s weekly schedule is a masterclass in dedication:

🏋️ Midweek: Trains in Sydney with the North Shore Bombers and hits the gym 3 nights a week.
✈️ Friday: Flies to Adelaide to join the North Adelaide Roosters.
🏉 Saturday: Competes in the SANFL (playing Ruck & Centre Half Forward in the Senior Men’s Reserves!).
📚 Sunday: Flies home to Sydney to hit the books and focus on his studies.

In just three years of playing the sport, Nate has secured a starting spot in 11 matches, earned Best on Ground twice, and earned a well-deserved promotion to the Senior Men’s Reserves. As he prepares for the SANFL U18s Semi-Finals this weekend, he leaves a powerful legacy that truly embodies every pillar of our Marist identity:

Love of Work: Showing unbelievable discipline, grit, and sacrifice to train across two states while maintaining his school commitments.
Presence: Leading our student body by active example - showing up fully for his school, his mates, and his teams every single day.
Simplicity: Quietly putting in the hard yards without fuss or self-importance, letting his actions and integrity speak for themselves.
Family Spirit: Bringing people together, supporting his teammates in Sydney and Adelaide, and representing our College community with pride.
In the Manner of Mary: Leading with humility, quiet strength, and a heart focused on serving others.

Celebrating our Year 12 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander graduates! 🖤💛❤️

The 2026 Aboriginal Graduation Evening was a powerful night surrounded by family, culture, and community. Sydney Catholic Schools celebrated 78 graduating students, including eight outstanding young men from Corpus Christi College.

Together, we shared in a Welcome to Country, inspiring community recognition awards, and incredible cultural performances - including a special acknowledgment dance by our very own Corpus Christi ‘Waranara’ dancers.

Huge congratulations to Finn, Mitchell, Chase, Samuel, Will, Jacob, Ben, and Solomon. Grounded in culture and community, we know you will continue to flourish. We are so proud of you! 🎓✨

Our Year 12 HMS students took their learning beyond the classroom today as part of their depth study into biomechanics and technology in sport. 🏃‍♀️📊

The excursion provided students with the opportunity to explore how technology is transforming the way athletes train, perform and analyse movement, while applying key biomechanical concepts to real-world sporting contexts.

On Tuesday, after a gruelling two-week HSC trial period, Year 12 headed down to Maroubra Beach for a well-earned reflection day! 🌊

Father Daney led Mass by the coast, giving the cohort a sacred space to unwind and decompress after the intensity of exams. Set against the sand and ocean breeze, the day offered the students a chance to reconnect, reflect on their school journey, and consider their ongoing call to be a Man of Christ. 🙏🏼✨

It was a powerful day of brotherhood, balance, and shared purpose as the year group recharged for the final stretch ahead. 🖤🤍💛
