Some photos of the late GM Roland Dantes, very kindly sent to me by GM Rene Tongson taken at 1st National FMA Festival, Intramuros, Philippines 2006. GM Rene, Maraming Salamat Po! Pugay po!

An old photograph from the Philippines of Professor Remy A. Presas and Manong Roland Dantes (next to Professor Remy on his right) both dressed formally with a Modern Arnis group. Mang Vic Sanchez is standing third from the Professor’s left.

Manong Roland was the closest friend and confidante of Professor Remy A. Presas. Their bond as kumpadre lasted until Professor Remy passed away. In fact, while Professor Remy was fighting for his life in Canada, he sent for Manong Roland to fly to Canada to discuss their life and the state and future Of Modern Arnis. Testament to the closeness of their relationship.

R.I.P. Manong Roland Dantes, Professor Remy A. Presas and also Mang Vic Sanchez. 🙏🏻

Happy Birthday G**o Roland Dantes!

You are always in my thoughts and in my heart. You were a great FMA teacher, mentor, role model and friend. I miss you Manong Roland and I shall carry on with what you taught me, promote FMA and keep your legacy alive.
