Beehive Playcentre Pre-Kinder, Margate Tasmania Beehive Playcentre is a pre-kinder centre for 3 to 5 year olds in Margate. Sessions are held Tues, Wed and Thurs. Cost is $32 per session (at February 2021).

Beehive Playcentre is a not for profit centre offering places for 3 to 5 year olds to learn pre-kindergarten skills in a caring and fun environment with a qualified teacher and aide. Each week we develop a theme through activities, songs, stories and rhymes. We have a lovely outdoor play area with a cubby house and sandpit, along with a wide range of equipment to develop gross motor skills. The gr

oup is limited to 15 children per session to allow us to attend to each child’s needs. We offer two sessions per week during school terms, Tuesday and Thursday, from 9am to 1pm. Children can attend one or both sessions each week, with parents dropping their child off at 9am and picking up at 1pm. Beehive Playcentre is licenced by the Child Care Unit of the Department of Education

Here is our Term 3 plan, our theme is We Are Scientists!

It looks a bit different to our usual plans as we want to be able to follow the children's interests rather than being locked into weekly set activities. Many of the invitations to play and explore will be available to the children all term, or as long as they are interested.

We will have a "Wondering" table, with a range of interesting objects and images to wonder and talk about together. There will also be a weekly voting system where children and adults are invited to share their thoughts through placing a sticker on one choice or the other, and we will explore the results at the end of each day.

We have rescheduled our AGM to be next Wednesday from 1-3pm, including a small working bee to spruce things up in the yard!

We need as many families to come along as possible, our not-for-profit preschool cannot legally run without an active board of parents and community members.

We are seeking a new treasurer and chairperson, but you don't have to take on a special role, we need general members too!

We hope to see you there! Children are most welcome!
