We’ve been selected to participate in Local Matters at Grill’d North Lakes this month!

Local Matters is the Grill’d community donation program that sees each Grill’d restaurant donate $500 back into the community every month. The donation is split between 3 local community groups $300 / $100 / $100.

HOW YOU CAN HELP?
We’d love your support in receiving the highest $300 donation! Simply head to Grill’d North Lakes during August for a burger and pop your Local Matters token in our jar. The group with the most tokens at the end of the month receives the largest donation.

Wendy Rix, a visual artist with a vibrant spirit, painting stories from the beautiful Queensland, Australia. Wendy’s roots trace back to Goodooga, New South Wales, a place Wendy fondly call’s home. Wendy is a proud descendant of the Yuwaalaraay people and she carries their warmth, strength and wisdom in every stroke of the brush.– Wendy Rix

When Wendy visited Florence Kindy, we asked her to create a painting that captured the true heart of our kindergarten and she did exactly that.
Wendy spent time with our educators and children, listening to their stories and discovering what makes Florence Kindy so special. The children eagerly shared what they love most about their days here, while our educators spoke passionately about the values and experiences that shape our learning community.
The result is a beautiful piece that reflects who we are. It celebrates our commitment to sustainability, with plants blooming from shoes, our deep connection to nature and animals, our native bees, our beloved resident blue-tongue lizard Bluey, and our support for Bilby conservation. Most importantly, it captures the joy, wonder and curiosity of the children who are at the heart of everything we do.
This painting is more than just artwork, it is a reflection of our community, our values and the love that fills Florence Kindy every day. Wendy has truly captured the heart and soul of our kindergarten.

We are opening our gates on Saturday 30th May from 9am till 11am to come and see what Florence Kindy is all about! Our past, present and future families are all welcome!
