Margate Community Gardens

Margate Community Gardens We endeavour to promote a communal spirit, and wholistic health and wellbeing, via informal education in organic gardening, nutrition, and sustainability.

Community services which will be provided include:

Development of a greater sense of community:
As social venues, community gardens build a sense of community and belonging; the gardens have already been used to this end through the collaboration with Reclink. Education on environmental sustainability:
Demonstration and education for living and consuming in a sustainable manner, local solutions t

o climate change. Social benefits:
Supportive environment promoting links with the local community. Education and training:
Outdoor classes for education on plant nutrition, organic gardening fundamentals, permaculture, composting, and more. The Margate Community gardens were developed by the Margate Seventh-day Adventist Church, in conjunction with Reclinc. In an endeavour to assist long unemployed individuals gain re-employment, this collaborative effort commenced in December 2015.
