Channel Little Learners

Channel Little Learners is a play-based early learning program that you and your children will love!

Engage in quality play time with your little ones, meet other families, and enjoy craft, music, outdoor play and the library. At Channel Christian School we know that a great start is important for children and their parents. Little Learners will ensure your child has a happy, meaningful and enjoyable introduction to the school community. Little Learners is held from 9.15am to 10.30am each Wednesd

ay and Friday during the school term, and has been running for well over a decade. Sessions are based in our Kinder classroom and outdoor spaces, with regular visits to the school Library and nearby Dru Point playground. The purpose of this page is to keep current and future families informed of events and activities.

It's Harmony Week at Channel!
Join us this week for play and music, with activities featuring people, instruments and songs from all over the world.
Feel free to wear a splash of ORANGE as the official Harmony Day colour.

The school holiday month of January is almost over, and Little Learners sessions will be starting soon!

Our first sessions will be in Week 2 and Week 3 of the school year.
First Wednesday session 11 February - Kinder space
First Monday session 16 February - in ARC Hall

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all our families - may your holidays be safe, restorative and full of quality connection times!

(Our first session for 2026 will be Wednesday 11th February, in the second week back at school. Look out for a term outline in your emails/online in the new year.)

Library Books are due ASAP. Bring them along this week or next (our final sessions). Books can otherwise be returned to the school office any day during school hours (Term 4 ends on Tuesday 16 December). Thank you!

It's BIKE WEEK at Channel, so if you'd like to bring your bike for riding in the Kinder playground, please do!
We will get our bikes out of the store room - we are praying for some nice weather for outside play (and riding).

Channel is - once again in 2025 - filling 'Bags of Hope' for families in need this Christmas. Members of each school class are donating items according to the list pictured.
IF our Little Learners families would like to contribute (no obligation) there is a box in Kinder and/or in the school office in which to place any non-perishable items.
Thanks for any support you can provide, so we can help The Salvation Army bless Tasmanian families this Christmas.

Term 4 starts next week, Monday 13 October, can you believe it??? We have eight weeks of Little Learners sessions, exploring Farms and Insects, Nursery Rhymes, Bike Week at school and... Christmas! Bring your library books/bags for library visits in Week 1.

This is a reminder there are NO Little Learners sessions this Monday or Wednesday.
We have rehearsals and performances for our school production across the week.

We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday 22 and Wednesday 24 September - our last sessions before the October school holidays!

*Venue Update* This Monday 8th September, we will gather in the library for play, simple craft, singing and (of course) reading and borrowing. Our ARC will be very busy with the technical team arriving to set things up for our show. This would be very interesting for our little ones to watch but not very safe...
If you NEED a 'proper' coffee, maybe get one on the way. Tea and budget coffee will still be available.
Wednesday we'll meet in Kinder then Library as usual!

This week we are off to the library after playtime and morning tea.
Mondays we meet in the ARC and Wednesdays we are in the Kinder space.

It's Term 3 and the Book Week theme for 2025 is 'Book An Adventure'.
Join us in the ARC tomorrow (Monday) and in Kinder on Wednesday - we will also visit the library.
We're looking forward to adventures in Space, in the Jungle and with the Dinosaurs this term - see you at Little Learners!
