💭PHILOSOCHATS💭

We're excited to be launching PhilosoChats with our Year 1-6 students. Over the next five weeks, students will explore a series of thought-provoking questions designed to encourage curiosity, critical thinking and respectful discussion.

We encourage families to join the conversation at home. There are no right or wrong answers, just opportunities to listen, share ideas and see things from different perspectives. We can't wait to hear the discussions that emerge both in our classrooms and around family dinner tables. 💭📚

📚 Book Week Parades 📚

We are excited to celebrate CBCA Book Week 2026, with this year's theme, Symphony of Stories, recognising the many voices, characters and experiences that come together through books and storytelling.

Students are invited to dress as their favourite book character and join us for our Book Week Parade as we celebrate the joy of reading, imagination and the stories that connect us.

We can't wait to see the creativity on display and the wonderful cast of characters that help bring our own Symphony of Stories to life! 🎭📖✨

Don't forget about our Book Week challenge to design your own character due Monday 24 August. See details and some of the creative entries we have already received below.

You may draw your character, design it electronically, build
it, decorate a toy you currently own, it is really up to you. We
need to know your character's name, see the instrument it
plays and learn something about who they are.

🔬🌱 National Science Week 2026 🌱🔬

This week, Rapids Landing Primary School is celebrating National Science Week with the theme “Seeds of Science: Nurturing Science for All.”

Our students will be investigating, experimenting and learning through a range of hands-on experiences that encourage curiosity and inspire a love of science.🧪✨

🥶❄️ Brrr... Tuesday morning certainly reminded us that winter is still here!

Despite the chilly start, our school community was up and moving with Run Club (thanks Kate, Leigh and Tommy!), where students, staff and parents joined in for some fresh air and exercise before heading off to Brekky Club for a warm start to the day. We were delighted to have so many volunteers supporting us this morning - Thanks to Kellie, Sharon, Asti, Di and our student helpers for supporting Brekky Club.

Adding to the excitement, our Years 1-6 Extension Program kicks off today with Emily and Jack. We can't wait to see our students challenged, inspired and engaged in new learning opportunities.

From running shoes to breakfast tables to exciting learning experiences, what a fantastic way to start a Tuesday at Rapids Landing Primary School! 🌟🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🍎📚

Leftover items from the Year 6 Bake Sale will be available to purchase from the canteen from 3pm today! Please note sales are cash only. All funds raised go towards Year 6 Camp.

Tomorrow lunchtime. There will be a variety of options to cater for different dietary requirements.

Our Year 6 students are excited to announce they will be holding a Bake Sale on Monday 10 August to raise funds for their Year 6 Camp. Students in Years 1-6 will have the opportunity to purchase something from the Bake Sale during lunchtime at the shade shelter. Items will be between $1-$4 each.
