Another fantastic weekend of coaching with the girls. We love thaws retreats and the confidence and bonding that forms over the weekend.

In light of the tragic accident of makila Jones this week. While I don't know the extent of his injuries or situation, I wanted to share some preventable actions and tools if anyone is faced with a femoral bleed in a remote location. As a paramedic and person who loves to explore remote surfing locations, pictured here is a tourniquet and Israeli bandage which travels in my kit always. Attached to each photo is an application video. I didn't know him personally but was in awe of his surfing. If you are ever faced with this in the water. The quick application of a legrope or direct pressure to the wound to help to slow or stop the bleeding, can make a difference. If you make it to the shore, the application of these tools,can help to improve your situation, especially in remote settings. While every injury is different and some are not preventable just to know these skills is something we all should be aware of when chasing pits. Condolences to his family and friends 🙏.

So epic to be asked to come along to the Shark Eyes water safety and apnea course to present the major trauma and bleeds section as a representative of Surfing Doctors and Margaret River Surfing Academy.

Great to trauma and bleeds is one of my favorite subjects and stoked to pass on the knowledge to some epic crew.

Pretty safe to say, my life of late has been next level busy with not a lot of time to myself for anything else but family, work and study, but that’s ok. It’s a time I need to lock in for the greater good and I’m in. When I had the opportunity to take some time for myself recently, I jumped on it. Loaded up with some epic chinas and did what I love best and found some ocean gems. Thanks so much to good mate for shooting and giving me the advice I need to do this. was able to really capture the essence of our lessons at a retreat with I’ve really enjoyed being back in the water sharing my love for surfing and it’s just been so nice passing it on to lovely people like this.
