Last week, 14 of our students joined more than 100 students from Catholic schools across the Cairns Diocese at the Diocesan Student Empowerment Summit.

The Summit explored student voice, leadership, advocacy and empowerment, culminating in unanimous support for the Student Empowerment Framework, which aims to strengthen student involvement in decision-making.

Our students helped design and facilitate the event, creating activities, writing scripts and ensuring all participants felt welcome. We are incredibly proud of the leadership, initiative and service they demonstrated throughout the day. 👏

📚Today, we wrapped up a fantastic Book Week! From cake decorating, quizzes and Jam in the Junction to scavenger hunts and an incredible dress-up parade, our students and staff embraced every moment of this year's celebration. 🙂

Inspired by the Children's Book Council of Australia's 2026 theme, Symphony of Stories, Book Week was filled with creativity, imagination and a shared love of reading as we celebrated the wonderful world of books. 📖✨

Science Week was a huge success at St Stephen's Catholic College!

Organised by our UQ Science Ambassadors, students enjoyed a range of hands-on activities, from growing grass heads and creating colourful flowers to a spectacular watermelon explosion! 🌱🌼🍉

The week sparked curiosity, encouraged scientific thinking, and showcased just how fun science can be.

Round 1 of the Queensland Association of Mathematics Teachers (QAMT) Maths Quiz was recently held at St Stephen's Catholic College, with 19 students showcasing their mathematical skills and teamwork.

A huge congratulations to Claire B, Claire P and Ruby, who claimed first place and finished four points ahead of the runners-up! We now look forward to hearing whether we've qualified for Round 2, to be held in Cairns later this year.
