A sincere thank you to Emma Bussell for her generosity and community spirit. After winning the Marble Bar ANZAC Day Bake Off with her outstanding cake, Emma kindly donated her $500 prize to the school to support future camps.

We truly appreciate her thoughtful contribution. Acts like this reflect the strength and generosity of the Marble Bar community.

Next week, 1st Mat 2026 (Friday) is the anniversary of the Pilbara Strike. It will start with a commemorative walk at 4 pm and followed by a community event. And everyone is welcome to attend. At MBPS, students will be learning about the significance of the strike.
We understand that families may be interested in going into Port Hedland for the event and we would appreciate if families can inform the school if your children will not be in school that day.

It is timely for us to update the sign at the front of the school, and we are pleased to share a proposed concept for a new school signboard.

The design features our school mascot set against the hills of Marble Bar, along with our motto, *Care, Inspire, Thrive*, reflecting the identity and values of our school. We are also proposing to incorporate artwork by a local artist on the red section of the sign, to ensure the design is culturally meaningful and representative of our community.

The overall signboard will measure 1.2 m by 2.4 m, with each section sized at 1.2 m by 1.2 m.

We welcome feedback on the top section of the design.

Local or extended families/ex-residents of Marble Bar with artistic flair who are interested in contributing are encouraged to contact the school and speak with the Principal for further information. We will collate samples and have community feedback before deciding on the final piece. We will provide materials and paints for the artist to complete the selected painting, and a payment will be made for the time and effort to the artist..

We are aiming to install and unveil the new sign during NAIDOC Week next term. To meet this timeline, the design will need to be finalised by 1 May to allow sufficient time for production.
