Next week is week 7, which means….
📖Book Week 📚
Tuesday: The Grade 5 and 6 students will be visiting Mansfield Kindergarten to share a picture book with the kindergarten children. They will leave straight after morning prayer and roll, so please assist your child to be on time. They will return to school around 10:30 am.
Wednesday: During lunch, St Mary’s students are invited to take part in a second-hand book swap. Students are encouraged to bring in a picture or chapter book they no longer need and choose a new one to take home. This optional activity aims to foster a love of reading and rehome preloved books.
Thursday: We will dress up and parade around town! Please join us to check out the spectacular outfits. We will leave school at 9:15 am, so grab a spot anywhere along our route or meet us on High Street. See the attached map for details.
It’s shaping up to be a wonderful week full of fantastic literature!

💜💜💜BULLYING NO WAY WEEK | 17–21 AUGUST 💜💜💜
Today marks the start of Bullying No Way Week — Australia’s national week of action bringing schools, families and communities together to help prevent bullying and create places where every young person feels safe, respected and included.
The 2026 theme is “Small Acts, Big Impact.” It’s a reminder that making a difference doesn’t always require a grand gesture.
💜 Include someone who might be feeling left out.
💜 Speak up when something isn’t right.
💜 Check in on a friend or classmate.
💜 Choose kindness — in person and online.
💜 Encourage young people to seek help from someone they trust.
We have begun discussions and activities in the classrooms in regards to “Small Acts, Big Impact.”
Bullying is never acceptable, and preventing it is something we all have a role in. If you're being bullied and need help now, please find someone to talk to.
☎️ Kids Helpline: 1800 55 1800 — available 24/7
kidshelpline.com.au
Small acts of kindness, inclusion and courage can have a big impact — not only in our schools, but across our whole community.

~2026 Soup for Schools Program ~
Our lucky Grade 3/4 got to enjoy yummy Cauliflower & White Bean Soup last week. We had lots of positive comments after the students tried the soup. And these few students kept coming back for seconds and thirds!
The children also received the recipe to recreate the meal at home.
Thank you to MDH Mansfield Respond for organising, your soup was absolutely delicious and warmed all our bellies on a cold winters day!
