Wawa (hello) 👋🏼,

I’m a proud Taungurung Aboriginal woman, artist and mother, who is passionate about my art and my culture.

Yonemda in taungurung language means "Love". I hope to be able to share love and joy with my art 🎨

Been working on making some ochre and charcoal watercolour paints and I used them to paint this little painting 🖼 🦋🎨🖌

Done for tonight, not sure if I am going to add anything else to it or not.

My Lil man is trying to claim dibs on this one 😋✨️

Next painting started! I decided to do something different and push myself with this one.

So normally with all my artworks I draw out a sketch and especially on the canvas before painting and I decided with this one to paint a "sketch" instead of just a really rough outline and no details or anything and just "wing it" with no real plan or without thinking about it too hard. So I had my reference pic of one of my magpie friends that visit my place daily and this young one is so cute! So I litterally was just putting paint in random spots and building it up and got to this point! I am actually loving it so far! And I actually had heaps of fun not overthinking this one! Now to decide on a background 🏞🖼🎨✨️

Today's chalking!

Jono had asked me to do a goat from one the games he is enjoying playing at the moment, called goat simulator 🐐 🎮✏️☀️🎨🖼

Seems I have been doing alot of chalking (chalk drawing) lately, I have decided to give my hand a go and making my own hard and soft pastels from pure ochre! I must say to my surprise this first one has turned out pretty much exactly what I was hoping for!

For reference, the white on the left is a normal chalk stick and the light yellowy brown is the one I made with ochre! So after the first trial went so well I am now trying more with the other colour ochre and ground up charcoal that I have to see how they turn out as well!

Look out, I may end up making all my own art with my own handmade paints and soft and hard pastels soon enough!! How cool would that be! 👌🏼👏🏼✨️✏️🖼

Completed this chalk art today out the front of my place! Took me two days on and off to complete, but soo worth it to see it finnished!
I even made a sign so people know to look there for my artworks I create 👌🏼✨️☀️

I am super proud of how much I'm improving in my skills!

Some days as an artist you just aren't feeling it or are having an off day and sometimes you just don't achieve the results that you were hoping for or wanting.... today was one of those days for me! Nothing I was doing seemed to work out the way I wanted it to 😮‍💨

BUT I still persevered and this was today's chalk art 🎨✨️

We didn't have power here today for most of the day and so I resorted to using a little pop vinyl I have as a reference, instead 😋

After making some ochre paint the other day, I made some adjustments to the ochre paint and this is how the second batch paints up 👌🏼👏🏼 I'm loving them! A little but more tweaking and I think I will have it how I want it and then will have to start experimenting making other colours from flowers, leaves, barks ect!

Also just a side note, the black isn't ochre its made from charcoal I got from a fire pit 😋

And this Lil cutie is done! A bee from 'A Minecraft movie' 🖼🎨✏️

Jono and I saw the movie the other night and we both LOVED it! And we are both gamers and both love minecraft so it was cool to see it as a movie! 👌🏼✨️
